Just back gr8 night, was fantastic, venue is terrific. Coldplay were brill, best song for me was Death AAH Friends, the new stuff more than stands up, strawb swing was gr8 too, if I had to choose, weakest was Yellow, getting bored of it now, it's like seeing Oasis play DLBIA or Wonderwall. Anyway, crowd were hot, Simon Pegg played harmonica during Green Eyes I think it was, was superb overall, goodnight.

The show was good, I was danced my little ass off as always, probably upset the people behind me but who cares?!

I was twenty feet away from Chris as he sang The Hardest Part solo, and having seen them six or so times from the start of the X&Y tour I never even heard that once...I feel so glad and blessed. I had a ring on my finger from the girl I love like no other (and a girl I have to run off and find what she's been posting in my absence!! )

I met Chavi and she is just as wonderful and kind as she appeared in her Chrissy signing vid. My only regret is that I didn't meet Lauren (Lauve) but it is only a matter of time

My goodness the highlight of the night was hearing 'now my feet won't touch the ground' throughout the various songs...no CoL but they better bloody play it tomorrow or there will be trouble of the kmchi kind

That was simply the best night of my life. They were absolutely AMAZING! I came out of the arena (after spending about 15 mins filling my bag with butterflies) utterly speechless, WOW!

I'll upload some videos and pics later but they're a bit shaky cos I was jumping around so much. I think the people near where I was sitting thought I was mad cos I was going so crazy haha.

Thank you Coldplay!

Hedgie's view

I thoroughly enjoyed last night (apart from the hassle getting home!). As someone who has been gigging for 20 years now, I'm sure this will long be remembered as one of the best I've seen and although it was the first time I saw Coldplay, it certainly won't be the last, if I can help it.

Finally, for most of the gig (apart from the obvious bit!), I had Simon Pegg standing in the entrance to the backstage area right next to me. Seat right next to the stage, one of my favourite comic actors right next to me and a great performance. If it wasn't for TfL and a journey home involving three buses, two trains and a car, the night would have been just perfect!

I went last night and I thought it was an extremely accoomplished and polished performance.

I've seen them quite a number of times from 2001 onwards and with the new material blending into old favourites, I was thinking of some of the songs that they missed. (Shiver, Don't Panic, Square One, White Shadows, Everything's Not Lost, Kingdom Come). My highlights were Lovers in Japan, Death and All His Friends and the brilliant version of God Put a Smile On My Face/Talk.

Fortunately, I was sitting on the side where Green Eyes was performed and got some decent photos. Back For Good encore was a bit cheesy. Then again, who knows which Girls Aloud song they will cover at Wembley. I think we could see a brilliant Coldplay/Jay-Z duet as well.

This was definitely one of the best Coldplay performances I've seen. After X&Y where I wasn't sure where they were heading, Viva La Vida is a much more uplifting CD and to me, that definitely translated into the performance. It was great to see Will sing and Jonny/Guy get more engaged in the vocals.

When I was entering the 02 arena last night i said to the man who verified the ticket me and my sister had I have waited 6 and a half months for this, that was very untrue because I had been actually waiting for the best part of ten years to see this awesome awesome band, my dad came along as well but he was seperated from us, because I brought my sister her ticket as her christmas present 4 months after I had booked my own and dads tickets. I can quite honestly say neither me or my sister thought much of the support groups that came on. But as the time was getting nearer to them getting on the stage I thought wow now I actually realise how super massive this band actually are. Then the lights went down, and Life In Technicolor started playing, and I thought this is going to be the best ever night of my life, so was it any better than seeing Muse at Wembley Stadium 1 and a half years ago. HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! They were just so good last night, and I was standing up for like the first hour of the concert. One of the best bits for me had to be when they played Lovers In Japan, and there were Laser Machines in each corner of the arena and millions of paper butterflies came out of all of them, and I caught about 10, when they played yellow I was a bit worried for a few seconds that they were about to do the acoustic version of it, but they did the version I know and love. I had a dream a while ago I was at 02 arena watching Coldplay, and they had gone off stage, and no one knew at all where they had gone to and then suddenly, I looked round and there they were behind me and my sister, a very similar thing happened last night. Chris said see you in a minute, and they went charging off stage and went through the arena, and they suddenly started working their way towards where me and my sister, were sitting and my dad was standing, they did not quite get to us but they got ever so close to us. All in all i can quite honestly say it was THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE SO FAR. AND I REALLY SEE NO POINT OF THEM SPLITTING UP AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE EASILY ONE OF THE BEST BANDS TO SEE IN THE WORLD AT THE MOMENT. Bring on Wembley Stadium September 2009. It could be their masterpiece.

Ok it seems hundreds of people have already said what they thought of last night and now its my turn (i only just got out of bed). Anyway i thought it was bloody amazing!!! The band were on simply top form last night and the crowd were up for it too. I particularly liked the techno versions of GPASUYF and Talk as well as Lovers in Japan which i wasn't a fan of until they played it last night (shame i wasn't able to catch the butterflies). It was nice to meet up with some of my fellow coldplayers Mark and Frank.

Monday was the day of the gig so we spent the morning and afternoon traipsing about London itself. Getting to do the touristy stuff that I don't normally get a chance to do when I'm over thames-side. Saw Westminster (cathedral, abbey and parliament), had a "flight" in the London eye, took a trip to Buckingham palace via Trafalgar square and even caught some changing of the guards. A bit of shopping saw us quite tired by the late afternoon. But all in all it had been a productive, worthwile proper seeing of London.

And then it happened. Niall said those faithful words. "Sure this is going way better than Edinburgh." It would seem the ever listening fates don't like such cockiness. Especially not when it involves me and Cusack in a foreign country. So off to the concert we went, oblivious to the rolls of the dice the gods were playing in their consistent efforts to make any trip abroad that we take together more "interesting".

The concert itself was great - Coldplay are still one of my favourite bands and put on a great concert. They were even joined by rom-zom-com surpemo Simon Pegg for a couple of songs. A kind of dull crowd meant that it wasn't brilliant but it had been worth the trip so far. Tired but satisfied we were making our way to the tube station when the wrath of the gods struck.

"Due to an incident on the track, the jubilee line is closed in both directions."

I'm still not sure whether this meant that someone threw themselves in front of the train or somehow just managed to get on the track but the effect was catastrophic. Nearly 20,000 people (well that might be an exaggeration - but it is the capacity of the 02) all trying to get home, suddenly had to try and find alternative arrangements. The Thames Clipper was only accepting existing ticket holders so there was no boat out. There wasn't nearly enough buses, the taxis were going to be astronomical, and when the line did re-open there were thousands of people trying to get into the tube station.

Chris Martin snubs limos and takes the Underground to O2 gig

If you were on your way to the O2 on Monday night and thought: "That bloke reading 3am looks vaguely like Chris Martin"- then it probably was!

Because the Coldplay star decided to snub the chauffeur-driven limo and jump on the Jubilee Line to go to his own gig.

He told us: "I was reading your column on the way here on the Tube. I like getting the Tube sometimes to walk into our own gig. You get charged up from the atmosphere.

"No one recognised me. I just bought a Mirror and kept my head down and got off with everyone else. But then security stopped me at the door and I had to explain who I was. That was a bit embarrassing."

Bet they thought you were taking the Chris mate...
