Reviews

GRANDE COLDPLAY.

Perhaps and it arrived the last night, something of pain, to take advantage of first to buy the special edition for latinoamerica of X&Y, unlike the other days the public arrived early, was rain. In short, the recital began to the same hour of the other days and lasted the same.

The show was incredible, in spite of a pile of defects of the sound of they themselves when interpreting the subjects, but a parenthesis, the rock is better thus, because before a fault, leaves the force here and the commitment, the delivery, and tonight I felt it far better that the other two shows, I felt more to the arranged band, more given, was a show much more to power, perhaps so that they shortened the acoustic section. In the end the pain of the aim of the cycle of the 3 concerts, the oath with the Abby of pa the next one to be every day ahead, the photos, and pa the house to enjoy a rich soup tomatos done my manitos (and the prescription of on).

Next the Seth list of the last Show in Santiago 2007, the one that contained many new features and variations in the structure of both previous. GREAT COLDPLAY.

So tonight is the last concert in Chile, and tomorrow we head on to Buenos Aires. I’m writing this blog in the crew room with Yellow playing faintly in the background. It’s anything but faint inside the venue!

Anyway, I will be sad to leave Santiago. I have met some fantastic people here, especially the Oxfam staff who have been so friendly to me. It’s been a great start to this tour! Santiago is an interesting city, much like Chile is an interesting country; a country of extremes. We have seen very expensive neighbourhoods, where every beautiful house is surrounded by high security fences and barbed wire. A ten-minute walk, and you find areas of abject poverty - temporary housing, poor sanitation and unemployment.

There are street-sellers with stalls of the most beautiful flowers, and the juiciest, freshest fruit and vegetables. Of course, it is the workers in these seasonal industries who suffer most at the hands of the countless free trade agreements that Chile has signed over the last 10 or so years.

One of the images that will stick in my mind is of the hundreds of men and women employed by the city to water various bits of grass around the place. As we drove back to the hotel last night, at 1am, there was even a huge water-tanker driving slowly alongside the verges with a man on the back dispensing thousands of litres of water through a giant hosepipe onto the immaculate, lush turf. It probably sounds silly - but honestly, everywhere you turn when you’re out and about there’s a hosepipe with someone attached to it, spraying water liberally on the ground. Today, it has rained non-stop all day. I guess that’s a day off for the hosepipe crew.

Santiago is a beautiful city though, surrounded by stunning mountains. I hope one day to return here. Right, by now the gig is nearly over - I’m going to go and watch Fix You, It has to be the ultimate end-of-the-show song…ever!

[Thanks Oxfam]

thats the expression in my face when I saw coldplay in ESPACIO RIESCO!!oh!my…. Well.. the concert was perfect..but there are some songs that i want to hear and..where are??? nobody knows.. trouble, hardest part, a message… I’m in the 2nd chair… 2 meters from chris… i have throat problems ’cause i scream so much!

[Thanks GReen eYES’S trouble]

My sister and I were vacationing near santiago, and came back just for the concert, only to leave right away after. I thought that they would never come to the ends of the earth, i.e. Chile, so I think that its great that bands like Coldplay that are at the peak of their fame come to Chile or other small countries around the world. The lights were fantastic, with colored lasers and blinding flashes that would excite the audience even more... and Chris Martin's spanish, impeccable =) The only dissappointment was that the concert lasted such a short time. I was having so much fun, and I thought that maybe they would play more songs after Fix You, but they left and even though the audience kept shouting for more, they would not come back... I feel that maybe two or three more songs would have been great. Ive heard many people say that their only comment was the duration of the concert, but other than that, fantastic.
