On my way home. I am still looking for words to describe it. It was far beyond amazing. Band were in great form, Chris did a little mistake before Violet Hill, don't know what happened exactly. Otherwise it was beautiful. The crowd was great, the AWD-Arena is such a lovely venue. Personal favourite of the evening: Charlie Brown. So straightforward, but so good. More tomorrow. [thanks medispolis]

HEY GUYS! Okay I just got online (it's almost 4:00 am right now and I'm fucking DEAD) and I still need pictures and videos from all the other amazing Coldplayers to make my review complete. Holy crap it was all so amazing! SOME MANY AWESOME THINGS HAPPENED I CAN'T EVEN... I'll post my review in about 12 hours, sorry guys, I just don't have the energy to do the whole review now. It will be probably even longer than the Leipzig one, since I have taken a crapload of pictures, and a video, and as I said, there were other fans that made awesome videos as well, that are important for this review. So maybe you'll have to wait a little for them. BUT I will write down EVERYTHING so that you can at least read it, and then later I will post the videos when I got them all. Holly SHIT my brain. Okay, I'm off, I'm totally knackered. [thanks Twisted mind]

Okay, let's begin with a short review (I am not really good in that, because I don't read any reviews anymore, except those in the forum here). It was just amazing. The weather stayed dry and sunny for the most time. No rain, but it was very cold, 8 degrees celsius. The stadium was almost full at 7:45, when Marina went on stage. I really liked her set, it got even better towards the end. But I guess most people did not know her or only her two popular songs in Germany. Charli XCX was okay, not my favourite music, but she did a decent job.

During Marina's set it got dark outside, just right after eight o'clock. Crazy that summer is over. Marina finished at 8:30, Coldplay came on stage at 9:10. In the meantime the roadies prepared the stage. Miller did his panorama view and everybody who looked towards him raised his hands. Should be a good one, I think. Then Coldplay. And the first ten minutes was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Mylo Xyloto with the fireworks and the wristbands - WOW. The crowd was on top from the first song. Hurts like Heaven was a belter. As Chris shouted "Hannover", the stadium went crazy. "Oh boys, I guess, that is an amazing crowd", said Chris.

In My Place: Confetti, Jonny on fire and much much love from Chris to Guy. Major Minus: Great finish. With all the clapping and Will's drums. Perfect. Lovers in Japan was amazing with the baloons and the confetti. Great singalong during The Scientist. Chris did a little introduction to Warning Sign. Something like: It is our last show today in Europe. We will be away for a longer time, but back soon enough I guess. We were in Germany the first time, when we were 21. This song is almost from that time. It's warning sign. We play it today, because we haven't written any better songs yet. DLIBYH was okay. Only weak moment. Bring back Politik! Charlie Brown was my favourite. Paradise was beautiful. Afterwards most people did not know that Coldplay went to the C-Stage. Surpise for most of them. Chris dedicated UATW to his mum. Speed of Sound went pretty well.

Clocks a belter. Fix You beautiful, Jonny and Will on fire. I have never seen that Will hit the drums so hard. ETIAW was the best possible ending, Chris had the German flag raised. Afterwards Viva chants in the stadium. Today I am a little bit sad that Coldplay are going to make a longer break. But they need it - and they deserve it. I know they will be back - and I will be there. And for the next time, we still have the ColdplayFilm. One of the greatest nights of my life. Yeah. [thanks medispolis]

Awesome! As I couldn´t arrive early and didn´t have front of stage tickets I decided to hang around at the C-Stage and it was the fucking best decision... as the stage is so small and the gap to the barrier is 1m ish, I was closer than ever before in any normal first row concert... although they just played their two songs there, sooooo many things happened.... to sum it up: when chris came on stage I reached him my sunglasses and he took them to find out and realise that he doesn´t wear sunglasses ,.... so he gave them back to me after UATW, he handed a plectrum over to me (absolutely an advantage of this short distance at the c stage) sooo cool, fair enough, its just a piece of plastic, but hell yeah chris played with it and gave it to me in person finally after Speed of Sound, when the other boys were off stage already, chris came to me AGAIN and gave me "bro fist". I am still in awe... after London this year, I can´t really tell which concert was better. [thanks joeyhannover]

Yesterday it finally happened that concert of the year 2012 in Hanover by Coldplay, and I was with my wife there. Also this time I can just anticipate that I was completely thrilled by the concert of the four British guys and I'm at the next concert in Hannover, what they give back with it. I think I will also take my two daughters to whom you will like for sure too. Against 14:45 clock we have delivered to our kids friends have been paying attention to it, a big THANK at this point, without them we would not be able to visit the Coldplay concert.

Ca.16.00Uhr we have inserted a snack break at MC Donald south of Hannover, and the anticipation for the concert went, and in my anxiety to get a parking space close to the AWD-Arena. Laatzen out we made our route to the stadium in Hanover, which had a market and every time the lights were on red and as if that still was not enough to compete against another Wiesbaden tram and at exactly the crossroads where we had to turn absolutely. It's not like when I am familiar in Hanover. ;-(

So be it, so went back to the junction and continue and to misfortune to einzubiegen crossing the street to take us to Coldplay. As expected, the large parking lots around the AWD-Arena were already full, but we were lucky to get us very close to a grass verge parking place where you could not, well, we were not the one and only. ;-) "I hope they do not drag us down", these were my thoughts to the stadium. At 17:25 clock we were in the AWD Arena and our first visit was to the toilets. :-)) Ah, that's a great feeling when the bladder is empty.

Slowly we went there already on our burst and looked us in and half an hour to as the stadium filled before the first support band started playing, "CharliXCX" (here's a small link to listen http://charlixcxmusic.com/ ) can say is not bad the girl I liked, but sometimes the bass were so strong that it sounded like some places overridden. Generally, one must say that the Sound 2009 but better was so clear. What the hell's not like as if you had not understood anything. ;-) CharliXCX played as a half-hour, and in the meantime it was dark outside, they began to rebuild the stage, and there are still tons of people streamed into the arena. Some time later, the second opening act was her appearance, it was " Marina & the Diamonds 'wow, if only because it was well worth the money. She put ne really great show and brought the crowd to a boil.

Against 21:10 clock Coldplay entered the stage and opened the concert with a great fireworks display and the song "Nurts Like Heaven" what. For Auftagt Followed songs like "Paradise," "Up In Flames", "Violet Hill," Lovers In Japan "and much more. Course there was but" not Viva La Lida "missing, sounds good to sing when 45,000 spectators Oh Ho Ho, ho. :-))

After about two hours the show was already over, so quickly, how time flies when you experience great things. Unfortunately, the lads have played no encore, which I. Too bad but other hand, was singing Chris Martin, the frontman of Clodplay mostly in T-shirts and sweat is the only way of spending and at a temperature of only 7 degrees Another reason is that she was probably the only allowed to play up to 23 clock, I can only shake his head. Well, it is always so when it is something great in life, great moments are soon over. When 45,000 spectators take the trip home and some many still travel by car, as we do, you stand ever half past eleven in the night in Hanover jam, great, I've always wanted. ;-)) In conclusion, even at this concert I will remember for a long time back and this is without doubt one of the highlights of this year in my life. :-) [thanks Stefan] http://seliuswelt.blogspot.co.uk/201...over-2012.html

22 September 2012 - AWD Arena, Hannover, Germany (Photo: haz.de)

OMG! Once again it was a great show that Coldplay has delivered last night at the AWD Arena in Hanover. For me it was just a great experience, this time, right in the 2nd row (Front of Stage), Coldplay live to experience. My sister and I had made shortly after 1:30 on the way to Hanover. Since the shooting park by the very bodies for the Oktoberfest, the parking was limited, was briefly parked at the Maritim Hotel and the short walk to the stadium walking is involved. We had a good half hour before the doors there and had plenty of time to go to the south-west entrance and there to have a fast and relaxed intake. Immediately afterwards there was the brilliant LED bracelet, which was part of the show! I must say, I would have thought that would have been let go, but my sister and I could easily get hold of a great place in the 2 series. So I did not expect.

Coldplay has spared no expense and have once again conjured up a great stage. The web was the same as 2 years ago. We were left off the dock, right in front of guitarists. After waiting for a good three hours, we started with the opening acts. Who were there: Charli XCX and Marina and the Diamonds. Shortly after 21 clock we went with a great intro and fireworks going on with the first song. And you're right in the middle was the Coldplay concert experience. And finally came the LED bracelets used. It is a sight when 45,000 lights blink in the stadium. My wish was fulfilled by 2 years ago and there was again in front of confetti butterflies, birds, hearts, X and M. It was just great, like the scraps of paper in the air over a flew and trickled down.

Very nice again was that they again had a small stage in the back room and there concert played 3 songs. After 2 hours, the concert was over. Happily went with a handful of confetti home. After a good half-hour in Hanover in a traffic jam. My conclusion after two Coldplay concerts: I would look at me again and again a concert by Coldplay because I get delivered a great show, but not for the low ticket price. But you get also a lot to offer for the money. The music is great, the awesome stage show, as well as a magnificent laser and light show, which seeks its equal. And gives a chic final fireworks it also =) [thanks Jules] http://jules-moments.blogspot.co.uk/...-22092012.html

22 September 2012 - AWD Arena, Hannover, Germany (Photo: Californication / Forum)

Even my mom's friend told me I was rarely so happy and I just blasted the whole evening. ) Yesterday was by far, but really by a wide margin the best night of the year! I was all the time so nervous and excited, I've felt a hundred times the phrases "Oh my God, I'm so excited!" And "Oh God, I'm so excited!" Said. As a true fan of course I also had my nails match. Be we thought that we leave a little bit earlier, we did not know, how much going on the highway is and how quickly we would find a spot. At half past four we were in Hanover, the time before the concert started (19h), but went by in a flash. I got myself in the time still a Coldplay t-shirt purchased (although I € 35 a bit expensive place - but I can not go to the concert of one of my favorite bands, without a souvenir who can not.), We have the Stadium a little looked at (and were glad that we had fixed seats ... those crowds, madness).

Coldplay had found two opening acts, first came Charli XCX, I had never met, but I really good. Is unfortunately rare that the initial groups are also good. The only time that this was the case for me was, when Rea - Jacob Brass. The second opening act was Marina & The Diamonds. I had only known a song of those. When Marina started to sing, I was like "Oh my God." I thought that they make very good music, but the first two songs were really horrible. Fortunately, she has but then increased and finally I found them no longer even that bad. But not as good as Charli XCX. I think that comes across Marina but totally arrogant. Totally unsympathetic ..

Then it still took forever to Coldplay came on stage. A half to three quarters of an hour we had to wait, there were probably technical problems. But the wait was more than worth it! The concert was the last of the Mylo Xyloto - tour (at least in Europe) and thus there was a particularly good show. At the entrance we got all the bracelets that were blinking on some songs to the rhythm (amazing picture!). The opening was a big hit anyway, the show has just started with fireworks. But I do not have much red, you convinced yourself of it.

Of course, we have not brought much to the seats, as everyone stood up anyway. I was so excited, my legs were really soft and I thought I hinged together equal. While "In My Place", one of my favorite songs was played, Chris Martin ran along this ridge, once in the air and jumped at the precise moment was very much confetti sprayed with a bang. That was so great! One can not imagine that this is actually in the stadium were 45,000 people! My biggest concert was 5000 people. This is sometimes loosely nine times. Still at a relatively early Chris has played with a guitar, and then thrown into the air really high and I thought "The he starts but never in my life again?" Apparently he also had not before, but it has simply let fall to the ground. The beautiful guitar. : O But for the moment, that was really awesome. On the screen, which was then to see it again in slow motion, even from above, like the smashed guitar were lying there. I was wondering if they make it at every concert, so many guitars ...: D

And what would a concert without the absolute classic Coldplay: VIVA LA VIDA! As the concert came to a close and Coldplay from the stage, the entire audience started to sing again Viva la vida. What we did not know was that Coldplay has used this time only to a small stage in the middle to go in public. They stood between then all the viewers and have "sung Us against the world" - Chris Martin's mom. First, only he was on stage, and little by little he came to the other members of the band. After the song, she then walked to the side of the passenger compartment at the right stage, pursued by headlights. I said that it would be so great that they were now at the end, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" sing for Mylo Xyloto heard - somehow this tour ... and what was the conclusion?

All in all I can say, even if it is incomparable to my previous concerts, it was the best so far! I'm a happy person back and left again. Would have loved to have watched the whole night. ♥ [thanks Sarina] http://translate.google.com/translat...=0CDYQ7gEwATgK

22 September 2012 - AWD Arena, Hannover, Germany (Photo: Danceteacher / Forum)

Originally I had not planned to go to Hannover but after the Cologne concert I simply had to see it all again! The train journey up there and the ride to the stadium was quite uneventful and I arrived at about 1pm at the Arena. So no early-morning qeueing for me this time but Thalia and Volker had faithfully kept a place for me. There were less people there than I had thought for a Saturday and the others had already met up with some other Coldplaying members – Raphaele, Imke and some others whose names I did not catch. We also met the very nice Fiona who brought iron man along. And of course Chris the elephant man was there again.

The weather was a bit dramatic – one minute sunny and nice, the next pouring rain and icy cold. We took a walk round the area – which was really huge, we did not make it once round the stadium. Well, and then things started to get interesting. Shortly before 3pm some security guys came and told us as we had been there for so long already we would be let in to the next barrier in a few minutes. It was all very disorganized though - some of the guys checked our bags, others didn’t and they did not know whether only the small or also the large gates were to be opened so we spread evenly. Then one of the coldest hours of my life began as we stood under some kind of roof far removed from any sun, there was no chance to sit any more, my friends were at the other gate and I slowly froze miserably.

Shortly before 4pm the entrance on the far right started to let people in so the others followed till some angry security guy shouted that it was too early and everyone already in had to go back! Which again proved that Coldplay fans are just the nicest in the world as really everybody came back without complaining and all laughed about it. Finally we were let in and though the security insisted on a second bag-search and were really unfriendly nobody stopped us from running. And it was a VERY long run uphill, into the stadium and once round the barriers but we made it to the front row. This time we had decided to stand directly in front of the X-stage, which was the best idea we ever had. And what a wonderful surprise when suddenly our friend YellowGirl turned up who had bought a ticket only that day and did not have time to tell any of us!

Well, I had brought some Lebkuchen and as we all know that Will likes them we decided to draw a sign and try to make him notice… The weather stayed dry but it was really chilly so you could hear – not very original - jokes about this being a COLDplay concert all around. Then it was show-Time and Chalie XCX came on. This time the sound was much better (though maybe it was just that we stood in another place) and I found that I actually liked her songs. Marina was great and elegant as always. Miller came around for the Panorama and made some pics for the blog but though he took a picture of us waving the flag as madly as we could it did not make it into the blog.

And then – 99 problems and Coldplay! It was absolutely fantastic again. I will as always leave comments on the technical performance to others – I simply again loved every song, the Xylobands, the fireworks, the confetti and the balloons. MX/Hurts Like Heaven is an amazing Opener I would not want to miss, Major Minus just rocks, and once again I was stunned about the energy that comes across during this incredible beginning of GPASUYF. The running man animation in Charlie Brown is definitely a favourite of mine. Us Against the World is simply beautiful and the same goes for Warning sign. From our place in front of the X-stage I could not quite hear as much from the crowd as like last time from the side but I think the audience was really good. Chris seemed to be in an extraordinary good mood, laughing and joking a lot. After Yellow he messed up – I think instead of starting with Violet Hill he went into the beginning of GPASUYF, so they had to stop and start all over again. Later on the C-stage he messed up again though I don’t know what exactly went wrong. Maybe he was distracted by joeyhannover’s sunglasses

The place in front of the X-stage was simply great. We had a direct view all along the runway so for the first time I could see the light show and the fireworks completely. Not to mention Chris and Jonny on the runway and the whole band up close during the X-stage Set. We also managed to get a balloon! And of course this place earned us some very special moments:

During the whole concert we of course behaved like true Coldplayers and gave our best. Every time Chris came close we waved our flag like mad and he noticed it during their X-stage Set. In one song (cannot remember which one) he even pointed at it. After Up in Flames we got out the Lebkuchen and the sign and shouted out to Will. And he noticed! He screwed up his eyes trying to read it, finally got it and laughed so hard that he messed up the start of Warning sign which made Jonny laugh and mess up, too! Chris noticed that something was going on but did not see what so he just laughed. Unfortunately I could not give the Lebkuchen to Will as I dared not throw them and damage either the instruments or Will’s head with them and it was too far to pass it over (the security guy did not help either). But it was unbelievable!

For ETIAW Chris brought his own German flag but when he came along the runway the second time he left it behind and Thalia threw ours on stage. He picked it up and wrapped it around him and finished the song with it. Then when going to each corner of the stage to bow to the audience he passed it to Guy who later passed it to Will who put it on the piano. Chris grabbed his own flag again and that’s the one you see in the pictures of their final pose – unfortunately not ours though we were absolutely thrilled about him picking it up in the first place anyway.

Then it was all over and after the ritual "Gathering Of The Confetti" we were ushered out of the Arena – again very disorganized as the security hearded us through some bushes and hedges in the dark that could simply NOT have been the intended official path. On the long walk around the stadium to the car park we were approached by lots of people who wanted to touch our balloon (hmm, that sounds a bit dirty) and asked us if we wanted to part with it. I think we could have sold it for quite some money but of course we did not. We said our good-byes to Raphaele and YellowGirl, put the balloon in the car and fought our way through the absolute traffic-chaos around the Arena and were finally on the way south, reliving the concert and listening to Coldplay the whole drive.

After a short stop at Thalia’s place Volker dropped me off at Duisburg train station at 3am but as my train had just left I had to wait 2 hours for the next one. As Duisburg station is not exactly the safest place to be in the middle of the night I decided to jump on the last train to Dusseldorf main station instead for the wait. There I narrowly avoided a TV-crew making a documentary about police officers on night shift, told a nice young African gentleman that no matter how often he assured me that he thought me beautiful I was not interested and spent the reminder of the 2 hours among tired Japanese businessmen, occasionally taking a walk outside to watch the rats happily at play and to not fall asleep. I was finally home by 6.30 in the morning and after taking a shower I realized that I had been awake for exactly 24 hours in a row, so I just fell into bed and a deep sleep. Summary: A day among friends and - to quote Chris - “the best f** concert of my life”. I cannot imagine 24 hours invested in a better way. The only damper is that we do not know when and where the next time will be. [thanks Danceteacher]

22 September 2012 - AWD Arena, Hannover, Germany (Photo: Californication / Forum)

Great review Thalia !! Thanks to all of you who posted pictures, I'm gonna save them all for my personal collection. Hey I just came back from the show earlier today, still can't believe it was my last Coldplay show for a while My trip was pretty long (21 hours of bus from and to Paris) but definitely worth it, I would do it again if I could ! I joined a lovely german Coldplayer that I had met in France at a Coldplay show last year. We spent half of the saturday waiting in front of the AWD Arena and even with the security trouble/delay to open the gates we succeeded in having the spot that we wanted, by the X Stage, so happy !! I like being there because I love when Chris runs, we have loooots of butterflies and we have an amazing view of the main stage, the fireworks, the screens. Not to mention when Jonny, Will and Guy come.

It was my 10th Coldplay concert this year and I was still amazed as if it was my first one I couldn't help crying, starting on The Scientist/GPAUYF/Yellow realizing that it was the last time I was seeing these songs live for a while. It became worse when Coldplay came back on the main stage for Clocks/Fix You/Every Teardrop... Tears came streaming down my face like waterfalls (). For some reason it was really hard to say goodbye even if I know, all good things must come to an end...

I have been allowed to put my banner so the band saw it when they came on the X Stage !! Chris and Jonny looked at me for a while, smiling back in return, magic moment ♡ Here is a picture of it. The security guy in front of us was really nice and we laughed a lot together ! My friend had an a banner to ask them to play Amsterdam instead of Warning sign like in Chicago. Jonny looked a it and laughed and you know the end of the story, we had Warning Sign. At least we tried ! Yesterday my bus was late in the evening so I had time to discover Hannover. I had a walk trought the city and I saw lots of butterflies on the floor and I even found two Xylobands !! It's too bad that it's not blown up but I would not have been able to bring it back with me in the bus so it's okay ! As I wanted to enjoy my last Coldplay show so I did not filmed any songs. [thanks Californication]

The day before the concert Volker, Jelena and I decided to take a German flag to the concert, because Chris apparently likes to wave flags around at the end of ETIAW. So why not try to get him our flag? And we all thought it looked rather neat. I ordered my ticket for Hannover over the internet and the seller told me to I can meet him in front of the stadium to get it. Well, I ways rather nervous about this situation because there could always go something wrong with this guy so yeah, I was kinda nervous. Anyway, Volker told me he would get me with his car and drive me to Hannover Well that was just way too awesome. So after thanking him for about 439583095 times, it was already saturday morning 7am and he was in front of my house. I got in, we got excited, and drove towards Hannover! The sky was getting brighter and so was our mood Apart from the occasional rain I was pretty happy about the weather. Volker also had to get his ticket from another guy, but it worked out all great. At 9:45 we arrived in Hannover at the AWD Arena. EXCITEMENT LVL OVER 9000!!! Getting our stuff out of the car, we headed towards the entrance where already six guys have been sitting around. They were giving me some strange looks because of the big flag waving around my shoulders lol. And then my ticket seller came, gave me my ticket, wished us a great time and rode off with his bicycle YEAH finally! Now my nervousness went out of the window and I was running around because I was excited and cold and my flag was moving awesomely in the wind. After another 20 minutes some girl arrived at the gates and looked around shyly. I went over, and we greeted each other which ensued like this:

  • Her: „Oh hi, I suppose you're also here because of the concert?“
  • Me: „Well yeah, kinda obvious isn't it?“
  • Her: „Yeah. Anyway, my name's Imke!“
  • Me: *thinking for a moment* „My name is Thalia!“ *Imke? Like, Imke IMKE from the forum?!*
  • Imke: *also thinking for a moment* „Thalia?!“
  • Me: „Yeah?!“
  • Imke: „THALIA FROM THE FORUM?!“
  • Me: „THE FORUM. ARE YOU THE MOD“
  • Imke: „YES OMG“
  • insert awkward exciting Coldplaying fangirl moment here
  • Imke: „Awesome to finally meet you“
  • Me: „Same here omg“

Well that was cool wasn't it? I introduced her to Volker as well and now we finally had a tiny cute Coldplaying group of 3 people, yay! And then Jelena came YEAHH and we went bonkers and then we had to pee So we got up and started searching toilets cuz the organisation team of the stadium apparently thought it wasn't necessary offering toilets for the 47ooo fans. we finally found toilets in a fancy-schmancy hotel, woot! Then we headed back to our barriers I saw Chris from Switzerland approaching! After greeting and fangirling over him (again) I forced him to take my flag and put his elephant head on. You rawk dude Oh and not to mention his growing fanclub, there were already girls around him and taking pictures with him, too I went back to our little group of Coldplayers and suddenly a girl from another group of fans scooted over to us and was like „Well uhhh. Hi. Umm. So I uh, heard you were talking about Coldplay the whole time and seemed so joyous and my group was only talking about relationships and parties and shit like that. So uhh, is it alright if I can join you guys?“ and I found that totally cute and went like D'AWWW and we totally introduced her to our group. And then we talked with her (her name is Fiona) and she told us that she's usually going on Slipknot and metal concerts so I was rather surprised LOL. And we thought that it would be totally fucking hilarious if there was a mosh pit or a Wall Of Death during a Coldplay concert, mainly during the song „The Scientist“ And then Frank (Freates) arrived! Alrighty, the Coldplaying group was rapidly growing!

Suddenly there was movement all around me and I got up from my sitting position only to get told by a security member that they will let us in shortly. Well holy shite it was only 3pm. Okay, everyone was like totally nervous and pushing, so we got through the first gate and through the second one where we all were standing/sitting at the very first time, and finally we stopped at these huge ass metal doors. Alrighty, standing there we asked the security members if we were standing in the right positions and they gave us a puzzled look which gave us the perfect answer HOORAY FOR MESSY ENTRANCE PLANNING! So nobody knew where the fuck to stand so our Coldplaying group just scattered to increase the chance that at least one of us can save a spot inside the arena for us (we decided to stand at the end of the X-stage this time because we didn't want these annoying camera guys in our view the whole time). So, nervousness level grew again, I was spazzing like I always do when I'm nervous and Fiona told me to shut up lol. Chris was next to me and we kinda squished towards the final gates and security men.

And then I thought fate kicked our pretty butts: People from the left side started running through the barriers and were let in first, and we were like „WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!!!“ because our security people didn't move. Like not a single fuck. They were just chilling and watching the other fans run. Shortly before we were about to kill our securitymen some group of other security men shouted „GET BACK TO THE ENTRANCE! You're not allowed to go in yet!!“ So those fans got pushed back into their original positions. Well thanks a lot for the heart attack guys... Now we were absolutely morbidly nervous and just wanted to get through the whole ordeal. Security guys were forming groups.

And suddenly Chris, still standing next to me, yelled „THE GATES ARE OPEN“ towards the security man in front of us. For a moment I thought he badassingly trolling, but turning to my left I realised that he was freaking right. People were running AGAIN. Alright now, GET OUTTA HERE! Major pushing ensued, but no, our security man was Mr. Chillax himself and he took his time to watch our tickets from all sides and we were freaking out over him and why the fuck did he take so long and OMG I wanted to freaking set him on fire with my looks of pure RAGE It was my turn now to stand in front of this git, and he calmly took my ticket and I totally screamed into his face: „THIS IS FOS. THERE, LOOK AT IT. NOW LEMME THRU“ and he was like „Okay OKAY jeez“ and I ran past him, grabbed a wristband and fucking RAN. No, you can't call that running. Let me explain: The guys to our left side who were let in a little bit ealier then me were still running in front me, and I just flew past them (it was freaking exhausting because you had to run uphill) and was like „OUTTA MY WAY BITCHES, I'M ON A COLDPLAYING MISSION“ and ran inside the stadium, spotted Frank running in front of me, screamed his name, to no avail though because he was kinda having this tunnel vision and only focussing on the front barriers

Alright, second check point, I shoved my ticket into the securityguy's faces and breathed „FRONT *gasp* OF*gasp* STAGE*gasp* OKAY?!“ and they made a cross with a marker on my ticket and I ran further to the MX stage FUCK YEAH!! Only Volker was standing there and already saving our spot! Oh god we made it. I collapsed and sank down the metal barriers and just waited for all the other Coldplayers to come. Fortunately they all found their way towards us and we were in heaven To my pleasant surprise another Coldplayer (Claudia is her name) from the Colognegig decided to buy a last minute ticket and she also found her way to us! SO AWESOME!!

Now, the weather started to get really great, the sky was blue, there was no cloud up there, BUT it was really, really cold, still around 13°C So we started to sit tightly together to warm us with body warmth, and I couldn't believe my ears when Claudia said: “Jeez, I'm really hot, I better get an ice or something“ Jelena had the brilliant idea of taking „Lebkuchen“ with her and present it to a certain Mr. Champion during the songs that were going to take place rigth in front us. So I made a little paper saying LEBKUCHEN just in case.

Now we were waiting for Miller to show up! He finally did and we hoped that we were visible on the Panorama. Finally Charlie XCX came on, she was okay, then Marina and the Diamonds came on, she was GREAT. And Fiona is a fan of her so we all went crazy together with her because it was fun

THEN FINALLY she was done as well and we got really hyper and waited some more for Coldplay. Then Jay-Z started playing and I went bonkers and sang along and everything and then it got dark and BTTF played holy FUCK

Now, you all know how a Coldplay concert is like so I'll leave out the normal things. Time for the HIGHLIGHTS AAAAHH OH MY GOD: Okay first of all, we waved our German flag like crazy everytime Chris got near us.

  • he saw it quite a few times and we stretched the flag over the whole barrier so that he could read it
  • BUCKIN right in front of us lsdkgjslkrgjlsdkhgdklgj I hope they will never take IMP off the setlist
  • Miller was walking towards us was filming us with a big camera. Still there's no video of it on the Coldplay website! WTF!
  • when they released the ballons, you all may have noticed that some of them have little LEDs inside. We got lucky and catched two of said ballons (they were already popped) and took out the lights. They even have switches on them! They were totally bright and we waved them around like crazy!

So now to ONE of the epic moments of the concert: The boys came up towards the end of the X stage right in front us to play POC, Up in flames and warning sign. Since Will was merely 3 meters away from us we got out the Lebkuchen, the paper and put the bright LED lights behind it for him to see. Directly after UIF there was a tiny little break so we yelled „WILLLLLL!!“ and he totally looked at us Now if that wasn't epic enough already, he stared at my paper and really concentrated, and after 2 or 3 seconds he finally understood the German word and burst out laughing for a sec and remained grinning all over his face! And he couldn't stop, that was the best part! Chris was trying to start the song but Will just kept giggling and had problems playing the guitar LOL And he even leaned over to Jonny, whispered something into his ear and Jonny started laughing, too! Fucking HILARIOUS!! Oh and Claudia got it alllll on her camera still waiting for her vids.

And now to the SECOND epic moment of the concert: da flag. As I said before, we tried out best to make Chris notice our flag. During UIF he did, he stared at it for a few seconds before playing. Okay, now we had his attention and he wouldn't forget it. ETIAW started playing, and we all tried to remind Chris that „YES, the flag is still here, and DON'T YOU DARE TO FORGET US!!1!“ And so we waved it around, screamed, waved the LEDs around, jumped, jumped with the flag, I even put it over my face one time! Chris went to us again, pointed STRAIGHT INTO MY FACE (or the flag ) and ran off again. Then after the first verse Chris went over to Will and got out his own German flag. Well damn, that was a downer lol. Suddenly Jelena and Volker turned around to me (they were at my left/right side) and yelled „THALIA, YOU MUST THROW THE FLAG ON THE STAGE, NOW!“ And I can't throw for saving my life. And how the fuck am I supposed to throw a flag when there's wind in the arena and everything! The flag would probably fly backwards or something. OH GOD BUT I HAD TO. So with all my power and hope I crumpled the flagg together, moved my arm behind my head, aimed for the edge of the X stage, and threw that thing with all the force I had left. The flag went through the air like slow motion, I was praying to God, Allah, The Flying Spaghetti Monster for it to just NOT land on the ground but pleaseplaseprettyplease on the stage !! and it did. OH MY GOD IT DID. I MADE IT HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTT and then Chris saw it, put his other flag away, run straight towards us, kneeled down, took the flag, looked me for a second, got up, put his hand with the flag in it into the air and waved it around. And after the song was done he even put the flag around Guy's shoulders, who walked around with it a bit, and then gave it to Will, who put it on the piano later on. The flag they had over their shoulders during their bow was their own unfortunately, but you know, I don't really care LOLOMG And after THAT we were over the moon.. the mars even, holy gods Volker also managed to get a balloon yay!

And that's it. That concert was freaking amazing. [thanks Twisted Mind]

Media Reviews

haz.de: The most colourful spectacle that the AWD-Arena has ever seen/experienced: The Britpoppers Coldplay are rocking in Hanover Saturday night. With popping light effects, the big hits and intimate moments en masse - and at only 7 degrees temperatures outside. Hanover. At 23.20 o’clock: As it is time to go home, the stadium empties quickly. And the work of clearing the stage has already started. That was it. Now football is again to be played here.

At 23.10 o’clock: Happy faces everywhere. "Great, excellent, absolute madness": The fans leaving the AWD-Arena are euphoric. "The show was styled well, and the band has been on fire”, says Kathleen Fredrich, who - with her son Max Gregor – had come all the way from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to Hanover exclusively for the concert. Ken Kaschel was already in 2010 at the last Coldplay concert in Hannover and knew roughly what to expect. For instance, also, that the band would distribute colorful glowing bracelets / wristbands among the fans. "But the boys have outdone themselves. And the twinkling lights everywhere in the audience; I am sure that even someone who does not like the music would have found pleasure in the show."

At 22.50 o’clock: After "Fix You", this beautiful ballad with the bombastic end, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," completed the evening. At 22.50 o’clock, the quartet leaves the stage - ten minutes earlier than expected! The residents will be pleased. And Chris Martin can finally do something about the kidneys. 7 degrees. Hot show. And now a grog.

22.50 Uhr: Chris Martin kann sich endlich was an die Nieren tun. ???? 7 Grad. Warme Show. Und jetzt 'n Grog.

At 22.22 o’clock: After “Paradise”, the four men leave the stage. Undoubtedly, they are doing something to get warmer. Chris Martin might take a hot shower, and drummer Will Champion is taking a hot water bottle. But no, after a minute they're back. "Us against the World". Something quiet. For his mom. On another small stage at the back among the "fucking awesome crowd" in - yes, yes. He says it quite often that word. Perhaps because he is cold. "Speed of Sound" afterwards. And then back to the main stage - not by helicopter, but on foot. Through the audience initially and then to the side through the arena back to the big stage. For "Clocks". Good topic. At eleven o’clock the concert must stop. Otherwise there will be nagging by the residents. But they manage to complete the concert in time.

At 21.50 o’clock: 7 degrees. Chris Martin wears T-shirt. He is sweaty. Do something for your kidneys, one might shout to him. Problem: Everyone wants to shout something to him. Most of them would rather shout something like take off more clothes than wear more clothes. Martin sits with his three boys on the middle stage which is connected to the main stage by a long runway for running and dancing. That is the “We-were-once-a-quite-small-band” part. Rihanna is also there. However, only on the screen. She sings "Princess of China" in duet with the real Martin. A bit silly. Oh well. The beautiful "Up in Flames" is an excellent immediate compensation. Then another little piano ballad from the early days of the band: "Warning Sign". Martin should perhaps really wear some more clothes. But it does not matter, it is the last concert in Europe, the band will soon continue their tour on the warm side of the earth. But "fucking" Hanover really gets another treat. "Viva La Vida" thumps through the football stadium, which is heard in this arena whenever Hannover 96 scores, so quite often. I wonder if Chris Martin knows this?

At 21.30 o’clock: The onlookers near the Stadionbad can see.a bit of colorful sea of lights inside the stadium. Spectators are packed at the barrier from which they can catch a glimpse of the stage. Lars Sterzel, his brother Björn and girlfriend Henrike Green refrain from taking advantage of the view and make themselves comfortable at the adjacent meadow with blankets and camping chairs. "The acoustics are really great," says Lars Sterzel. But as clear as at the Stadionbad, Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s voice is not at Maschsee, but the environment suits the romantic tone of the songs. Maria Gabriel and her friends Conny Borchert and Hannah Dobberahn have made themselves comfortable with candles, champagne and grapes on the wall at the Maschsee. "Here is a great place to listen, because the atmosphere is relaxed and the music is just so loud that you can have a good time," says Gabriel.

At 21 o’clock: The music that was played while waiting has stopped and is replaced by a loud singing voice. On the screen appears: "Please wear the bracelet. It is part of the show." That is not a too big promise. As the band members quickly enter the big stage for "Hurts Like Heaven", the whole stadium is blinking, synchronized and remotely controlled by the lighting director. In addition, fireworks in the North Stand (Nordkurve), quite legally, for a change. Chris Martin yells "Make some noise, make some fucking noise, make some fucking noise, make some fucking noise Hanover!" And the Arena is a really awesome fucking Hanover noise. During "In My Place" it's raining confetti in the interior, the lights bounce, laser grids put over the heads as once by Pink Floyd, and – quite appropriate - Martin shouts "Is there anybody out there?" Stupid question, this is finally fucking noisy Hanover. "We have the best fans in the world," Martin says then, and now it is enough with the adulation. "Lovers in Japan", "Yellow" - slowly, the music moves in front of the effects. A small four-man band playing their songs. Hanover listens attentively - and the German Economics Minister Philipp Rösler (FDP) has mingled with the audience. The BossHoss was also sighted. And so the concert is shrinking from oversize to a very intimate 45,000-people-event.

At 18 o’clock: Still in the afternoon you would have thought that Hannover 96 was going to play a football match against a less popular Bundesliga opponent, so leisurely, fans trickled into the arena. There were only people waiting in line in front of the specially established Coldplay fan shop. Torid Trecksler is looking forward to the concert. Today is her 15th birthday, and she had got the ticket from her parents. "I have never been to a Coldplay concert, but it must be mad if it's like mom and I have watched on television." Also her mother Petra is very excited, "I am sure that the live show will be really good."

At 17.30 o’clock: Anja und Sina from Exertal have spontaneously decided to go to the Coldplay concert with four friends. In the afternoon, they have large cardboard signs in search of tickets. "We have already done this two years ago at the concert – with success”, says Sina. But today it looks bad for the sextet. This concert has been sold-out for months, and only a few people offer surplus tickets at the Arena. One of them is Silvia Hess from Göttingen. By chance, she and her friend got three cards from an acquaintance who could not go because of illness. But now she has a ticket for a seat left. "I have already been contacted several times, but most fans are looking for places in the interior," she says. But she does not have to wait a long time: Quickly, she has sold the ticket. haz.de: The expected 45,000 fans have reason to rejoice: The concert by the British band Coldplay at the AWD-Arena in Hanover promises to be a great spectacle. First impressions can be collected during the construction of the huge stage. Hanover. It will be very, very colourful in the AWD Arena. For bright colors are the central theme/ issue in the pompous show that the British pop band Coldplay are going to deliver on Saturday night at a packed/sold-out stadium. Currently, the five circles (circular screens) that look a bit like soap bubbles are still showing the test image. But during the concert they will project flashing light games and show the some 45,000 fans every step and every guitar chord made by their idols on stage. Earlier this week, the speakers have already been established, the spotlights aligned - and the lawn on which the football professionals at Hannover 96 are usually playing, have been protected with plates. Of course, the confetti cannons and the fireworks machine have already been prepared for the show.

The police advise concert-goers to arrive by public transport. Around the stadium, there is little parking, because - at the shooting place - the construction has already begun for the "Oktoberfest", i.e. the October festival. Visitors are not to be led astray by signs leading to the AWD-Arena. Unknown people have covered some of the signs - so on Bischofsholer Damm - with the word "Niedersachsenstadion". Presumably, football fans in the ultra scene have done that. They are opposed to the renaming of the stadium to AWD-Arena. "It remains to us fans to maintain the memory of the true name of the stadium," it says in an Internet blog of the 96 fans. Charli XCX (at 19 o'clock / 7pm CET) and Marina And The Diamonds (at 20 o'clock / 8pm CET) have been planned to be the opening acts at the concert in Hannover.
