The concert was absolutely BRILLIANT. So much energy from the guys! The setlist was almost the same from Argentina, but there were a few changes: like it's been already said, they played shiver in billy jean's place. The crowd started screaming "shiver, shiver, shiver" before they went to stage c and when they arrived there what a SURPRISE!!! They didn't play cemeteries of London; they named "Don Quixote" of "Spanish rain" tonight. The concert started at 8:20pm and ended up around 10:30pm. Chris had this paper on the piano written some portuguese stuff so that he could try to talk to us. So cute!

OXFAM: Hello from Rio de Janeiro. Coldplay are just about to play tonight in the famous sambodromo Apoteose and Oxfam is here, as the band have asked us again if we wanted to come along. This time it’s me, Giulia, trying to make the most of this opportunity for Oxfam to be heard and to involve as many fans as possible. And I will be reporting for you on the fabulous life of the ‘Oxfam Rep’ on tour. The tour started last Friday in Buenos Aires, with about 50,000 people in the River Plate stadium singing along to their songs. I was there, free from Oxfam duty for the first concert and suddenly recruited for helping out with firing butterfly-shaped confetti during Lovers in Japan: an exciting task that is likely to continue for the rest of the tour. So that’s just one of the magic moments of the show, and the Argentinian fans replied with an amazing blue ola made of cell phones (that’s how it goes these days, no more old-style lighters).
The show was AAAAACCCCCEEEEEEEE!!! Boys were amazing and the crowd was fantastic!!!!!! And we are getting spoiled with SHIVERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Tears on my face ^^. Met Chris at the hotel after the show!!!!!!! He was sooooooooooo lovely!!!!! Signed my flag and took a picture with me (it's in my friends camera will have it by night). Also met Debs!! She was sooooooooooo lovely!!!!!!!!!! Said it's been the best CP gig ever As everyone around she also loved they played Shiver. Talked to Jackie twice in front row!! and yeahhh front row is superb!!!

My God, it was SO perfect... I went to Rio on the 26th at 9pm. I went with my brother and my father, but only me and my brother were going to the show. We arrived in Rio at about 4am of the 27th. At the bus station, I met (again) a friend of mine who was also going to the concert. We talked a little but then I had to leave and go to the Hotel. It was raining, but by the time we arrived at the Hotel, the rain gave a break. We left our things at our room and went to Jardim Botanico. It's a famous garden in Rio. Then we were almost dying of hunger, so we went to a Shopping Mall next to there, and this Shopping had Wi Fi, so I could tweet from there. So many replies on twitter. I loved to see my friends wishing me a good show, because they all know that going to a Coldplay's concert was always my dream. Since I was, like... 12. And today I'm 18... We went to Cristo Redentor, but there ware so many people there that we couldn't visit the monument. So we decided to go see Apoteose. They were working on the stage. Took some pictures and then went back to the Hotel, because I was very tired. I woke up early on the next morning. The sun was shining, the sky was blue... I went to my room's window, looked at my left and the view was just stunning. A beautiful church, and behind it, the ocean. The sun was reflected on the blue water... "perfect day to make a dream come true", I thought. Soon the clouds came and it started to rain. Which, in my opinion, was good, because it wasn't gonna be a hot day. I was nervous... tried to eat something on breakfast, but I couldn't. So I came back to my room and tried to relax. Watched a movie, and then got the things ready to the show. We arrived at Apoteose at about 1:30pm. There were about 80 people on the VIP line, I guess. When I was going to the end of the line, someone called my name. When I turned, I saw my friends, who I had met on twitter. We talked, took some pictures and then I asked them if I could stay with them there. They said yes, so I didn't have to stay at the end of the line
The gates were openned at about 4:30pm. It was like a Marathon to get on the VIP place. First, I rant to the place where they would check us. Our pockets, and this stuff. Then, to where they would check our tickets. Next, they gave us a bracelet to identify the section. When I passed through there, I was running like crazy and a security told me that, if I kept running, he would put me at the end of the line. It made me ran even more hahahaha. Then they had to check our bracelets, and only after that we got a freeway to go to the VIP. But we still had a maze to go through. Me ant two friends got lost. Twice. And still we could stay on the front row. I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I arrived there. Litteraly. I ran so much that my heart was about to explode. Talked to some people there, laughed, freaked out... time was passing... Vanguart started their gig. It wasn't that bad... thir guitarris threw a bottle of water and it fell on my head huahahahahahahahahaha. My friend who was next to me got it. He also gave us some neon bracelets. Then it was Bat For Lashes. I liked her voice, and all, but SHE is a bit... excentric... we laughed a lot of her when she started to shake like some devil from Supernatural was posessing her. We said she was cursing us. And funny is: on the secont her show ended, the rain got heavier. SHE CURSED US! Hahahahahahahahaa. Well, so Coldplay's stage was being prepared. They put Lovers TV on a place where I couldn't see it, because I'm pretty short. So, without saying a thing, the man next to me lifted me, so I could see the whole stage. It was very sweet of him
But then they put everything on a place that everyone could see. And the show started. I was like at first. It was my dream becoming true. I spent so many years imagining how that day would be... I was very young in 2003, and in 2007 my mom didn't let me go. But I was on that one! And I don't kown a word to describe the feeling I had... The show was just PERFECT. At the very beginning of Violet Hill, Chris alredy let us sing, and he loved it. He were laughing when unly us sang the chorus. The end of 42 was funny. Chris kept singing "those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head" and we tought he was gonna do the "whoa uhhhhhhhhh", but he kept singing that part. It was so funny... then he made us a sign, to warn us that NOW he was gonna do the "whoa uhhhhhhhhhhhhh". Yellow was special for me, because it was the first Coldplay song I heard. The yellow balls mad a great effect on the show. I threw one to Chris and he bursted it whith his guitar. He loved to do that, even when the song ended... oh, and also during Yellow, someone threw a teddy bear with brazilian football uniform o the stage. Chris got the bear and started to sing to it!!
Everything was so perfect... I was supposed to call my friend during In My Place. But I was so shocked that I couldn't. I called him during Politik, tho... and I was crying a LOT by that song. Clocks was also great. Everyone singing along... it was beautiful. Shiver and Spanish Rain were like... OMG, how can a band be SO great? Lovers in Japan started. I called another friend of mine and I could hear she screaming. Haha she said her mother thought she was crazy. The Scientist... ohhhhh The Scientis was awesome!! I cryed so much... everyone cryed, in fact... Had to make another call during LiT II. That one was the best. I promissed my friend that I would call her during it, so she was alredy waiting. I just heard a crazy and crying voice screaming "HELLO?!?!!". Hahahahahaahah it was sooooooooo funny.
And the show ended... My dream became true. That thing I was waiting for so many years finally happened. I loved every moment, every smile, every scream, every tear, every call... Everyone who shared that dream with me, including people who wnt to Sao Paulo's gig, and people who haven't gone no no gig at all... but you shared this with me. So you'll always have a place in my mind. Always. Yesterday was a pretty hard day for me. I cried a lot seeing photos of people who went to Coldplay Hotel and took pictures with them... one in particular made me feel terrible for hours. But a friend promissed me a gift, and I don't know what ir is, but it cheered me up a little.

Coldplay in Rio de Janeiro
On Sunday evening we saw Coldplay on apotheosis Stadium, Sambódromo, in Rio. It is the same place as the Carnaval samba parade contest was held, but only a part of it. 30 000 tickets were sold, but it was not completely sold out. Despite this, it was what I could see the full gallery on Pade and floor. Only VIP seats at the front appeared to have room left. The tickets cost 2000 USD, however, so it might not be something everyone wants to pay.
It POUR. Genuine concert weather. We purchased the opposite rain cape and it felt like we were on the Festival.
The dressing was called Bat For Lashes, and comes from the United Kingdom. They played just over 40 minutes, and got me settled at once. According to me sounds a bit like the Björk, Sigur Rós, and Florence and the Machine, the same experimentuella sound. Lucas said afterwards that "you should come home and google it and download all their songs, I feel everything a little bit" which I obviously would. Good band tips for those who like the other mentioned bands.
Coldplay had said that they would go on at 20.00, and was faschionabelt late, ie 20.30. Life in Technicolor began to flow out of the speakers and the four boys came out on stage. Since no one was standing still at just over 90 minutes. Since the tour began with Viva la Vida last year, and still goes in the album's characters, played many songs from that album. But it is always. While favorites such as Yellow, The Scientist (acoustic and with a stream of tears), Politics, Warning Sign, and others came during the evening. During one of the songs butterflies flew out of the smoke machine limits, or the butterfly machine, and the whole sky was full of colorful butterflies for a while. I had heard about this before. Both I and Isabela, Lucas friend, screamed with delight and agreed that this was the prettiest we've seen in a long time. I found then a butterfly on the ground on the way home that I saved.

The spin of the band for 25 countries on four continent s already attracted 3 million fans. The presentation was scheduled to start at 20h, but only began around 20:30. Sign that punctuality is not always followed to the letter by the British, but nothing to take away the mood of the audience, even under the drizzle. Composed of many teenagers and middle-aged people, the audience cheered when the lights went out and the quartet of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland appeared on a huge stage. A partir daquele momento, a Passarela do Samba deu lugar a um grande reduto do rock/pop. From that moment, the Sambadrome led to a great bastion of rock / pop.
Com um belo efeito de jogos de luzes, o Coldplay iniciou o show com duas músicas de sucesso, Life in Technicolor e Violet Hill , o suficiente para aquecer os fãs. With a beautiful effect of lighting effects, Coldplay set started with two hit songs, and Life in Technicolor Violet Hill, enough to warm the fans. Upon introduction, the singer Chris Martin, a Portuguese born and said "Thank you. Good night!" To the vibration of the bleachers and the fans who were in the stands and tracks popular and VIP.
As evidence of the high investment dedicated to the production of their shows, every song on the play of light was changed, providing more beauty to the tour. And to feel the positive energy of Rio, Chris decided to ask for help the audience with a "please" in Portuguese, the monitoring of Clocks. De imediato, o coro ecoou no Sambódromo. Immediately, the choir echoed the Sambadrome. He still had time to go to the catwalk next to the public for a quick chat: "Incredible! Is everybody all right? You guys are great!". One fan presented him with the flag of Brazil, which gained ground in the microphone stand of a band. "Muito obrigado por terem vindo apreciar o show". "Thank you for coming to enjoy the show."
Still in the early part of the presentation, the English sang Yellow and saw big yellow balloons were released to the air by the public. Whenever one of them flew toward the stage, Chris the burst with the guitar. Part of the public joined the colors of the logo of the tour and tossed balls in red, black and white.
In Strawberry Swing, another band's success, the boys improvised a small stage on the catwalk, complete with piano solos. Already in the song that gives name to the tour, Coldplay got the highlight of the show, raising the gang. Who had little time had the shoulders of friends to have a privileged view. Those who expected a closer contact with the musicians could not complain. To everyone's surprise, the quartet came off the stage and walked by a space allocated properly among the crowd. Another nice innovation was Don Quixote, the new song from the band.
During a short break for the boys resume their breath, the fans enjoyed the remix version of Viva La Vida. Meanwhile, in the makeshift shop selling souvenirs of the band, it was possible to buy $ 50 wristbands non-governmental organization maintained by the musicians. Income, 90% are destined for poor countries of Africa and the remaining 10% have Haiti as a destination. The shirts could be purchased for $ 70 and the posters come out to $ 15 each. Back on stage, Chris had an umbrella in Japanese style to protect the "rain" of shredded plastic while singing Lovers in Japan. Also during this song, the audience lit bright objects, such as cell phones, cameras and lighters, which created a visual interest in the rainy night.
Death and All His Friends , já em tom de despedida, foi finalizada com mais um "muito obrigado". Death And All His Friends, has a tone of dismissal, ended with one more "thank you". Alguns admiradores entoavam a melodia de Viva La Vida . Some fans chanted the melody of Viva La Vida. O quarteto deixou o palco, mas a platéia fez questão de esperar pelo tradicional "bis", que teve The Scientist e Life in Technicolor 2 . The quartet left the stage, but the audience was keen to wait for the traditional encore, which was The Scientist and Life in Technicolor 2. "Foi ótimo do início ao fim. O Coldplay está seguindo a cartilha do U2, dos melhores shows. O carinho ea proximidade com o público são incríveis. A banda só tem o nome de frio, o contato dos músicos com a platéia é muito legal, bem intimista, totalmente emocional", vibrou o jornalista Marcos Tadeu Santos, de 30 anos, que é de Belo Horizonte, mas veio ao Rio para ver os ídolos de perto. "It was great from start to finish. The Coldplay are following the guidelines of the U2, the best shows. The affection and closeness with the audience are amazing. The band has only the name of cold, contact the musicians with the audience is really cool and intimate, totally emotional ", cheered the journalist Marcos Tadeu Santos, 30, who is from Belo Horizonte, but came to Rio to see their idols up close. A banda segue para São Paulo, onde tem show nesta terça-feira (02/03) no estádio do Morumbi. The band continues to Sao Paulo, where he has show on Tuesday (02/03) in the Morumbi stadium.

I went to Coldplay's gig last night, i live in Rio de Janeiro and here rarely rains and it's never cold, well last night wasn't a typical Rio de janeiro's evening, it rainned alot, and it was cold and windy.... how can i describe it...humm... like an english summer weather! i felt like i was in glasto, minus the mud and all the amazing bands playing, tonight it was Coldplay's night. Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining, i miss the english weather ( yes i know i'm crazy) so it felt alittle bit like home to me. The concert it self was amazing, i had forgoten how much i love coldplay. Chris Martin's voice, energy, musician skills and lyrics are just too good to be true, actually all the band were sounding like perfection. Moments i know i'm never going to forget, i don't know if it's just with me, but when i go to a concert i'm 100% there, i want to absorb every emotion, every word, every note, and it moves me so much even to tears like last night (i know really embarrassing) but what can i say, i really love music! I read somewhere that people that wacthed them in Argentina were flying to Rio to see them again. i thought it was abit silly to fly all that and i also thought that they maybe too rich to see how much money they are spending .....but still.... after wacthing their gig.... i got to confess...i would do the exact same thing.

Preview: "Os brasileiros têm muito ritmo", diz baixista do Coldplay
In Rio, Coldplay bassist gives interview to Terra
A room with walls behind the makeshift stage set up at Square Apotheosis sounds out of one of a mandolin. A cordon of security guards wearing black will not let anyone get close. Testers chords and improvising a song on the premises is the group formed by Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland.
Coldplay is in Rio de Janeiro for the first show of Viva La Vida tour in the country, which will go through Sao Paulo on Tuesday. Bassist Guy Berryman is scheduled to leave the room to chat with Terra. Displaying a friendly smile and an education worthy of the reputation of the United Kingdom, he spoke for twenty minutes on the tour, the band's future and the music industry. Check:
What do you think about Brazil? It's been great. I love the energy and vibe of the people here. Unfortunately we do not have much time here, we leave tomorrow. I would love to spend more time in Brazil and learn more Rio de Janeiro. I have a few hours tomorrow and I will try to do as much as possible.
What has been the reaction of the audience to tour Viva La Vida? It's been too much. We're almost two years with this show. It took a while to get it right in the design and set list, but we got there. I think it is the best tour we did today. Certainly, the audience has been wonderful. The first show we did in Argentina was incredible.
Really, why? I do not know. Well, I think the Latin American public is noisy. They react in an impressive way to music. We love coming here.
How to you after 12 years of band, playing and traveling together, the will remains the same? We are very lucky, I guess. Many bands seem to get away with time and we do not. We have a very strong friendship. We've improved as musicians and really enjoyed ourselves. We continue with the hunger to make music and we are very excited about the new songs we're creating. We were in the studio, recording new material and will remain so, how long do we keep enjoying it.
How will the next album? Do you have a big difference from the last? What can we expect? We're working on a new album that is more acoustic, organic. Not want to sound small. We want great, but we have some limitations, you know. In the manner of recording, the equipment we use.
Yes, you used enough synthesizers and effects in the final disk. So the new album should sound very different ... I do not know. For now, we are only using acoustic instruments and very little amplification. It sounded very good. We do not know where this is going. But we have many things written and we are well pleased with what we've done so far.
The disc should come out until Christmas, right? Well .. that's the plan. But you know. We have an incredible ability to disobey the dates planned. I do not know. But hopefully, to finish this tour, we can return to work and finish as quickly as possible. The only requirement is that is good.
You continue working with producer Brian Eno? Yes, he is not so involved in production. But is joining us to test new songs, one or two times a week. It's great to have him around. He always brings new ideas ...
As he influenced your work? He made us think differently. In the opened windows to the rhythms that we use. The structures of the songs are very different and he is always willing to try something new. He gets bored very fast. So, to keep his interest we have to keep moving and showing us new things.
You have prepared something special for the show today? The show is pretty cool. Full of surprises. I think the best is that we have different stages. Let's each other, we close the hearing. For us it is important that approach. We do not like to stay away from the public.
Speaking of the music industry. How would you feel if you knew that some of his fans simply copy your music from the Internet without paying anything for the band? I do not know. This is a very difficult question. No one really knows what will happen. We can not complain. We had so much success over the past ten years. I do not think we were very affected by it. Perhaps the new bands suffer more.
What is your position? You release an album for free? If you reach the point where we release an album for free ... The artists have to find other ways. I think more and more bands and musicians are more open to the idea of doing business or have their music featured in films, for example. I think the subject is still taboo, but people over time will open more and find another way to make money with music.
You hear some Brazilian artist? Yes, Sergio Mendes and Mark Vale ... Brazilians are have much rhythm.
You have always been engaged in campaigns. The music for you to walk with the attitude, it can make a difference. I think the music or both. But we have access to a huge audience. People hear what we say. So when people approaching us and asking us to spread his message, we think we should. We have a great influence for many young people. So it is useful for those organizations that are important. And it really makes a difference. Especially the work we did with the campaign for Fair Trade. Many people got involved. We see people in supermarkets looking at products and seeing if you have the Fair Trade label.
What was the best show of the tour Viva La Vida? Ah, there was no bad show ... If I were to name one, I would say that playing at Wembley Stadium in London, was a remarkable thing for us. Always dream, since young people in getting there.
Do you have any music that you can not bear to touch? No Really, it has not. The set is very neat and is not a song is a journey. I still loved it and we only have eight more shows to finish. So we went through that very well.
What music is working better with the audience? Viva La Vida, for sure. People sing along and it will be loud tonight (laughs).
What is legal and what is annoying in a tour? It's great to see new countries, stay in great hotels. You know, just out of the English winter. It's great to come to a warm place. There is not much to complain about it. Just the fact of getting away from our families. I have a daughter three years old and I can not see her for five weeks.
You do kind of ritual before going on stage? No, not sacrifice any animal or something (laughs). We do some vocal exercises and try to have a moment of silence together.

Coldplay does show in Rio in the rain
British band Coldplay sang last night for thousands of people in the Apotheosis Square in Rio, in his first concert tour in Brazil "Viva la Vida". It rained throughout the show. The costumes and carnival floats were replaced by the typical decoration of the tour for Coldplay: huge globes suspended in the air and illuminated with inscriptions of "Viva la Vida" and references to Table of Delacroix that graces the cover of the album.
The Brazilian public has had defied the rain during the opening act for the British band Bat for Lashes. The Coldplay concert lasted about two hours. The band started the show half an hour later than planned, to wait for the rain to diminish a little and took the stage to the sound of "The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss, before starting with the first song of the night, "Life in Technicolor. " In his repertoire, songs from the last album like "Viva la Vida" "Lost" and "Death and All of His Friends', issues with which won the Grammy for best album in 2009.
The British foursome led by Chris Martin, who has not played in Rio since 2003, also played some of his most memorable themes as "The Scientist", "Fix You", "Clocks" and "Yellow". Martin described the environment of the Apotheosis as "incredible" and put a flag of Brazil on his microphone. During the show many surprises and special effects illustrate the show. First, giant globes of yellow flooded the track while the band played "Yellow" to continue with fireworks in "Fix You".
After a brief recess, the band disappeared from the stage and moved to a small platform in the middle of the audience he played several songs on acoustic, including a new song, "Spanish Rain". Thousands of paper butterflies of all colors covered the spectators in front of the stage during "Lovers in Japan", while a new battery of fireworks used to finally put an end to the show, which ended as it began with "Life in Technicolor. The show in Rio de Janeiro is the second of seven that the group held in Latin America and will serve to end the tour. After playing in Buenos Aires on Friday and yesterday in Rio, the band will go to Sao Paulo next Tuesday, Bogota, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey (Mexico).
