What a weekend!! What a show!!!!!
This was my wife's and my third show together on the X&Y tour - and my fourth!! What is awesome about this band is - that while we know they like to play it safe and have set playlists - they are smart enough to change it up. Having watched the set lists on the other Latin America stops i knew we would be in for a treat! Thank you thank you thank you for "What If!!!!" I never understood why they didn't play this on the North American tour - I love that song!! Then again i don't know how Iwould react if they started with something other than "Square One" or ended with anything different than "Fix You." Chris was as vibrant as always - happy bday! - and Johnnie was on fire!!!
We arrived into DF on Friday - while all the staff at The Hotel said the right things you could tell in their eyes they were lying - I just knew they were staying here!! And then our car and driver last night was the SAME car and driver that picked up Chris and Gwyneth at the airport and took them to his bday party - do we ever wash these pants??!! And then after probably the best of all four shows we get back to The Hotel and there they are - Johnnie and Will in the bar!! And while only a quick greeting - they were extremely polite and friendly. My wife is still freaked!!
After times like these you take a step back and realize what a wonderful life this is - how we are all so blessed - how we work so hard to attain these opportunities. Thanks Boys!!!!!

Well, finally Coldplay are in Mexico. I was in last night's gig and it was brilliant. The way they connect to people is great, as their way to play live. Chris speaked in spanish all the time I remember some things he said like: How is our favourite audience in the whole world?
And he asked for silence while they played 'til kingdom come also in spanish! I think Chris & Johnny were really exited, when the played In my place, Chris came out of the stage and ran through the left hall and I could touched him and watched him in front of me, Will of course was in the drums all the concert, and Guy...he didn't even move his feet from the ground, except when Chris pulled him to the middle of the stage.
I got the chance to see them when they came out of the hotel in their way to the concert, but they just waved the hand. after the concert I saw Johnny & Will coming out of the hotel, but the didn't say something. So far, they haven't signed autographs or taken pix with any fan wich is really sad cause personally, I've waited for them since last thursday, friday, saturday and nothing....maybe today I'll have good luck and I can get closer to them.

Hardly it does a few hours I was witness of the one of the best concerts in long time… concert of Coldplay…. was first of two concerts ke you would at night ofreceran in the City of Mexico… everything comenzo around when the the 8 lights were extinguished and salio to the scene the opening group… Volovan, ke is promoting their new disc at the moment… people prendio with them already ke were not much anxious to see Chris Martin and company… touched by a lapse of half an hour approximately and the two you complete rolas ke touched were ke but contact did with I publish… It Is Blue… simple ke did ke great mayoria the conocieramos and Monitor, new simple ke estan at the moment promoting… They became to catch the lights and by a lapse of approximately half an hour the people of the staff it did the preparations for ke everything was left for the exit of Coldplay…. a little last ready the 9 at night became to extinguish the lights and one by one they were appearing the members of the band…. Jonny Buckland… Will Champion… Guy Berryman while oia the voice of Chris Martin singing itself the first phrases of Square One of its new disc X & and…. madness was total when salio to the scene and I me podia not to think when half of the song I approach towards where it found me and was put to sing laid down my before! reponia of the emotion was even brilliant… not me when the Head was let oir agreed of Politik of the album To Rush of Blood to and all we began to jump as crazy (at least all ke was to my side)…. and immediately conoci came the song with ke and which is one of my favorites…. Yellow! ah was brilliant to return to oir it live! and as it touches brilliant Chris and gigantic company loosen globes by all the National Audience and all we put ourselves to play with them and Chris throne one and was suddenly full of slips of paper… then no longer cabia doubt of ke was in a memorable concert! and noncontentments with having to us already in the extasis interpreted first the simple one of their new disc… Speed Of Sound! todavia was left algun globes on the scene and Chris was awhile playing with them, ademas of ke volvio to approach of where podia was in favor… already my throat at those moments not, but of ke way I seguia singing each one of the songs… did not continue with the rola of God Put to Smile Upon Your Phase and was incredible at the end of this rola since they did single of guitars impressive!!!… they continued with one of the new rolas… What If for despues to return to the first Parachutes disc with the song of Sparks and Shiver in which the game of lights was impressive! immediately despues touched the song of White Shadows of their new disc in which Chris was singing in several parts of the rola before my and in the end despues was impressive to see it in knees along with Jonny singing this song… was the turn to interpret one of my favorite rolas… The Scientist (Nobody said it was easy, It’s such to shame for U.S. to part. Nobody said it was easy, one not to ever said it would be this hard. Oh take me back to the start.)… really this he was a little while magico in the audience while all, cantabamos and teniamos the cellular ones caught… And when creia ke no longer podian to me to sorprendar but… they made… all the band was put of the right side of the scene and they requested to us to keep silencion to interpret two special rolas ke tenian to us like gift of acustica way… Til Kingdom Come and cover of the king of Rock… Elvis… the song of Love To tend to Me… was brilliant like all the acompañabamos with our palms while they sang this rola… and despues siguio one of the rolas ke podia not to lack in this concert and ke was memorable as they touched it… Clocks! the laser beamses made their appearance like was to be expected… Chris song like never (Lights go out and I can’t be saved Tides that I tried to swim against Have brought me down upon my knees Oh I beg, I beg and plead Singing) and the end of this rola was incredible already ke were accelerating it little by little for ke in the end heard incredibly… vdd is ke are all teachers! finally they did not sing another one of my favorite rolas and ke podia lacking either… Clocks! agh! again Chris volvio to sing before my and the best thing of the case is ke alze my hand and it gave its hand me and I greet myself! podia not to believe it! ke is one of the best experiences I have had! ademas ke to see dance to Chris by all the scene was phenomenal! with this song they made the attempt go away, but logicamente we did not leave them and we began to shout as crazy and ademas we began to corear the mañanitas for Chris already ke the previous day habia be his fulfills and despues of moments returned with another one of the rolas ke have made famous to all the band of Coldplay… Trouble! (they spun to for Web me… they spun to for Web me… they spun to for Web me) and despues came the rola at night! In My Place… all estabamos like crazy people… until Chris! as much ke to half of the song I jump of the scene and one went away running in the middle of I publish and I end up singing in the middle of all we! ah that is to know how to be in communication with I publish! and to close with finishing touch the concert podia not to be but ke a song… Fix You! all we sang with all our forces until tearing our throats to us (or at least I je je je) and finally I arrive the moment for dismissing to us, but the eramos band us agredecio and to us said ke best of the world!!!… agh! ke concert…. catch oned the lights and it is seeing to me to see if conseguia the Seth list… but occurred to another one chavo it… approaches me when seeing if he let to me take a photo him and as serious my surprise ke was a ex–companion of the platicabamos school… while senti ke something me cai on my neck and as serious my surprise ke was a nail of Jonny! agh! that if ke were to have luck!!!… or sali to buy one ke other to souvenir and despues me dirigi to the hotel Four Seasons to see if conseguia a autografo of the band… I have left until near the twelve the night ke we saw leave to Chris and subio to a light truck and went surely to festejar to algun cavern of the city… with ke I do not remain but remedy ke or to come me for my house but with the conviction from ke really this has been one of the best concerts in many years!
Apenas hace unas cuantas horas fui testigo de uno de los mejores conciertos en mucho tiempo... el concierto de Coldplay.... fue el primero de dos conciertos ke ofreceran en la Ciudad de Mexico... todo comenzo alrededor de las 8 de la noche cuando se apagaron las luces y salio al escenario el grupo abridor... Volovan, ke se encuentran promocionando actualmente su nuevo disco... la gente no se prendio mucho con ellos ya ke se encontraban ansiosos de ver a Chris Martin y compañia... tocaron por un lapso de media hora aproximadamente y las dos ultimas rolas ke tocaron fueron las ke mas contacto hicieron con el publico... Ella Es Azul... el sencillo ke hizo ke la gran mayoria los conocieramos y Monitor, el nuevo sencillo ke estan promocionando actualmente... Se volvieron a prender las luces y por un lapso de aproximadamente media hora la gente del staff hizo los preparativos para ke todo quedara listo para la salida de Coldplay.... un poco pasadas las 9 de la noche se volvieron a apagar las luces y uno a uno fueron apareciendo los integrantes de la banda.... Jonny Buckland... Will Champion... Guy Berryman mientras se oia la voz de Chris Martin cantando las primeras frases de Square One de su nuevo disco X & Y.... la locura fue total cuando salio al escenario y yo no me la podia creer cuando a la mitad de la cancion se acerco hacia donde me encontraba y se puso a cantar enfrente de mi acostado!!! fue genial... aun no me reponia de la emocion cuando se dejaron oir los acordes de Politik del album A Rush of Blood to the Head y todos empezamos a brincar como locos (por lo menos todos los ke estaban a mi lado).... e inmediatamente vino la cancion con la ke los conoci y la cual es una de mis favoritas.... Yellow!!! ah fue genial volver oirla en vivo!!! y como toque genial Chris y compañia soltaron unos globes gigantescos por todo el Auditorio Nacional y todos nos pusimos a jugar con ellos y Chris de repente trono uno y estaba lleno de papelitos... en ese momento ya no cabia duda de ke estaba en un concierto memorable!!! y no contentos con tenernos ya en el extasis interpretaron el primer sencillo de su nuevo disco... Speed Of Sound!!! todavia quedaban algun globos sobre el escenario y Chris estuvo jugando un rato con ellos, ademas de ke se volvio a acercar por donde estaba... ya mi garganta en esos momentos no podia, pero no se de ke manera yo seguia cantando cada una de las canciones... continuaron con la rola de God Put a Smile Upon Your Face y fue increible al final de esta rola como hicieron un solo de guitarras impresionante!!!... continuaron con una de las nuevas rolas... What If para despues regresar al primer disco Parachutes con la cancion de Sparks y Shiver en la cual el juego de luces fue impresionante!!! inmediatamente despues tocaron la cancion de White Shadows de su nuevo disco en la cual Chris estuvo cantando en varias partes de la rola enfrente de mi y al final fue impresionante verlo en rodillas junto con Jonny cantando esta cancion... despues fue el turno de interpretar una de mis rolas favoritas... Oh take me back to the start.)... realmente este fue un momento magico en el auditorio mientras todos, cantabamos y teniamos los celulares prendidos... Y cuando creia ke ya no me podian sorprendar mas... lo hicieron... toda la banda se puso del lado derecho del escenario y nos pidieron guardar silencion para interpretar dos rolas especiales ke nos tenian como regalo de manera acustica... Til Kingdom Come y un cover del rey de Rock... Elvis... la cancion de Love Me Tender... era genial como todos los acompañabamos con nuestras palmas mientras cantaban esta rola... y despues siguio una de las rolas ke no podia faltar en este concierto y ke fue memorable como la tocaron... Clocks!!! los rayos laser hicieron su aparicion como era de esperarse... Chris canto como nunca (Lights go out and I can't be saved Tides that I tried to swim against Have brought me down upon my knees Oh I beg, I beg and plead Singing) y el final de esta rola fue increible ya ke la fueron acelerando poco a poco para ke al final se oyera increiblemente... la vdd es ke son todos unos maestros!!! finalmente cantaron otra de mis rolas favoritas y ke tampoco podia faltar... Clocks!!! agh!!!! nuevamente Chris volvio a cantar enfrente de mi y lo mejor del caso es ke alze mi mano y el me dio su mano y me saludo!!!! no lo podia creer!!! es una de las mejores experiencias ke he tenido!!! ademas ke ver bailar a Chris por todo el escenario era fenomenal!!! con esta cancion hicieron el intento de irse, pero logicamente no los dejamos y empezamos a gritar como locos y ademas empezamos a corear las mañanitas para Chris ya ke el dia anterior habia sido su cumple y despues de unos momentos regresaron con otra de las rolas ke han hecho famosos a toda la banda de Coldplay... Trouble!!! (they spun a web for me... they spun a web for me... they spun a web for me) y despues vino la rola de la noche!!! In My Place... todos estabamos como locos... hasta Chris!!! tanto ke a mitad de la cancion brinco del escenario y se fue corriendo en medio del publico y termino cantando en medio de todos nosotros!!! ah eso es saber estar en comunicacion con el publico!!! y para cerrar con broche de oro el concierto no podia ser mas ke una cancion... Fix You!!! todos cantamos con todas nuestras fuerzas hasta desgarrarnos nuestras gargantas (o por lo menos yo je je je) y finalmente llego el momento de despedirnos, pero la banda nos agredecio y nos dijo ke eramos los mejores del mundo!!!... agh!!! ke concierto.... se prendieron las luces y me quede viendo para ver si conseguia el set list... pero se lo dieron a otro chavo... me acerque a el para ver si me dejaba tomarle una foto y cual seria mi sorpresa ke era un ex-compañero de la escuela... mientras platicabamos senti ke algo me cai sobre mi cuello y cual seria mi sorpresa ke era una uña de Jonny!!!! agh!!! eso si ke fue tener suerte!!!... ya sali a comprar uno ke otro souvenir y despues me dirigi al hotel Four Seasons para ver si conseguia un autografo de la banda... me quede hasta cerca de las doce la noche ke vimos salir a Chris y se subio a una camioneta y se fue seguramente a festejar a algun antro de la ciudad... con lo ke no me quedo mas remedio ke ya venirme para mi casa pero con la conviccion de ke realmente este ha sido uno de los mejores conciertos en muchos años!!!

also theres something i read but im not sure if its true….the went from Brazil to Puerto Vallarta, which is a mexican beach…..then they took a private flight to mexico city and went directly to the Auditorio Nacional…..they where being a little bit late so they went directly to the venue and not to the hotel…which appartently is the four seasons hotel….i repeat, its a rumor and i dont know if its true.
almost at the end of in my place chris went down of the stage and he ran through the hallway to the middle of the venue ….consider that the venue has a capacity of 10,000 people
The countdown for the Coldplay concert has begun for me. Coldplay is going to be in Mexico City two days: the 3rd/4th of March and I will be attending to the first one with my girlfriend.
Actually I am very lucky because the tickets were sold out almost an hour after the sale began and I had to buy them through ticketmaster.com.mx because the phone number was busy. Also I was very lucky to get my seats in one of the first rows ( row H) and actually I had like 3 windows opened in my laptop to see which one gave me better seats.
It is the second time I will be at a Coldplay concert and I still remember the first one (A rush of blood to the head tour) which was on 2003. This concert will be at the Auditorio Nacional and hopefully it will be much better than the first one.

Chris is the most gracious person. His voice was almost gone (it was around 11 pm Saturday night), it was his birthday party-day, yet he took a moment for an old lady like me. I was extraordinarily lucky. I would have liked to have engaged him in conversation but I lost my adult mind and was too polite to impose. Later as I was getting on my elevator, Jonni swept by (with a toothbrush in his left hand), no time even to trip him and apologize (just being perverse, I would never and did not do that!). I was so convinced they were at the Condessa, DF…..
At the Auditorio Nacionale Sunday night, I saw the boys give a concert where they put in their all (but the blackouts between soongs broke the energy and the momentum). I have seen 7 of their concerts in the State. And I saw Gwyneth, anonymous women, Michael Stipes (R.E.M.) and an actor/producer/director I just cannot remember the name of, but I know his face. He is the fellow who suggested Coldplay sing Ring of Fire (according to Chris, anyway). Gwyneth is so still in love with Chris! She was dancing in place and the young lady next to her said “He’s so HOT” after he came up and sang to her the way he does when he comes up in the audience….So sweet. I completely understand and envy her that kind of love. Jay-zee and rap with Coldplay. Go figure! Smile SIGH.
I was on the same level in the auditorium as Gwyneth and Chris’ friends, and could see the entourage clearly from where I was. No cameras allowed. (I had no purse, yet I was frisked!) DAMN! But I had binoculars (I am so NOT cool).

P.S. For Guy fans (He’s my favorite), he has no wedding band on now, but has a gold loop earring on his lewft ear. Moved thewedding band there to his ear? He looked thin. He was, as usual, beautiful.
God, I wish I could have gotten his autograph. But Chris even sketched me! I had NO presence of mind at all or I would have asked him to dedicate it to my 52nd birthday, which was why I had chosen to be there!
Ack! He seemed so tired I just, as a good Southerner,couldn’t be any more rude than I already had been.
I will write more about Jay-zee and the concert later.
