I've just arrived home from the concert.

First of all, the sound problems: at Life in Technicolor and Violet Hill there were some problems with the speakers (like little electricity cuts of 1 second), but after that they didn't appear again, maybe later in Strawberry Swing, I don't remember very well. In my place (not the song, more or less 50 meters away the stage) the rest of the concert the sound was OK (at least all you can expect in a big stadium). But it seems that in other parts of the stadium the sound was worse, a lot of people complained about that. Before the encore Chris apologised about that.

The setlist, the same as previous days. Only after Green Eyes, on stage C, they played a song I can't identify. It seemed a traditional song, but I don't know... Maybe someone upload it to youtube and you could find out.

I'M BAAACK! awesome show, im fucking tired

sound problems, just little cuts in violet hill, that was all

crowd was IN-CRE-DI-BLE, everybody standing up from damn beggining to damn end (i was in the seating zone), they knew a lot of songs (only Glass of Water failed a little in crowd response) and singing along veeeeeery loud. the cellphone wave was really cool, and the amount of people there was just INSANE! the pit was crowded, i'd never seen something like that. oh well, good night.

I willl look for the positives in my review.....

Will has learnt spanish.... he speaks better spanish than chris I think I am sure he is like me, and has seen the perfect one but she does not speak english... only spanish..

The sound issues where I was seemed very apearant, nad highlighted they were playing a Cd in the background.

75 euros is a lot of money, and its bad that ,was the average price to go in.. why ??

they need to play more music from parachuets... there are some great songs for the fans on there, but something tells me, coldplay can not be botherd, as the other songs from the other albums are way to easy to play...

Maybe it was the Barcelona crowd, we went with such high expections... as always there was people that went to their very first coldplay concert... and they hmost likey did not sleep for days in anticpation... guys... its gonna take us a while to get over what was a shocking and very piss poor performence... remember I have been a member here for 6 years... and love coldplay and have a very personal debt of gratitude I could never repay...

Chris, will, guy, or johnny if you ever read this thread.. please try and understand we also paid a lot of money to go into the gig... we paid up to a 100 euros, it was crazy the ticket tout tickets were actually cheaper...

when have you heard this before...

take some time out lads.... now your very tired... I would be espically after alll that flying and checking in and out...

Come back one day and if Barcelona means that much to you, do a gig at la merce..

PLEASE NEVER AGAIN LET YOUR COMPLENCYn, CARRY YOU THOUGH YOUR CONCERTS... In addition please dont think we are ungrateful and sad bunch... neither...

when u come back, renturn to basics,,,, PArachuets... play more than yellow please..

Hello

I was standing, near the left catwalk. They experienced strong problems at the beginning of the concert, that happened when strong light where used => sound problems (no sound and a CRSSSCRCRCR!! sound each time that big lights shined), imagine glass of water with that problem. Suddenly the music volume was lowered in a few songs (I suppose while they where searching where the problem came from), and for more or less two song it was hard to listen Chris,

But then all began to go perfect. I enjoyed this concert a lot although I was very worry for them at the beginning. After this problems all began to sound great.

Don't believe people saying that or this was a shit. I was in the middle of morons (some of that commentaries must come from there, sure ) That didn't move or sing. But I could hear and see the stadium singing loud, dancing and enjoying this concert. My husband and me didn't stop dancing and singing.

Good night to everybody (please, forgive me for my bad english)

[mygdalom]

I was very very near to the stage and the boys definitely noticed the sound problems. Chris looked to the side of the stage several times saying "f*ck" during Violet Hill. After that, the gig was great. I don't understand all the critics. I was standing in the front and it was great. I had friends seated on the sides and they said it was great too. There were a lot of cameras recording the show (6 or 7 only in the main stage!).

Hi everyone...

This is my first post here, I´am from Barcelona so sorry for my english.

Yesterday I went to my first concert of Coldplay and I was really excited. The concert was great, Chris and the guys were great and sadly I can confirm the sound problems. I was near the stage and seated and the sound was really poor. I couldn´t hardly understand what Chris was saying when he was singing or talking. The last time they played in Barcelona, they did it in Palau Sant Jordi, a place maybe smaller but covered but this time it wasn´t and I think maybe that was the problem, but the people responsible of the sound should have known that.

The people at the end were a little bit sad, but if Coldplay read this, they should know that Barcelona loves them and that we are very grateful that they chose Barcelona again to play live.

We wait for them when they tour again probably with a new CD and in a big stadium as they deserve, but please with bigger loudspeaker lol lol.

[silvia75]

I was there last night, in the middle of the stadium floor and I have to say the sound problems were definitely real and long lasting. They sounded like they were playing underwater all night. You could hear the people around you in the crowd talking more loudly than the music from the stage, the speakers stopped working. It started in the middle of Violet Hill and it only seemed to improve a little towards the end. The worst thing is that it seemed like the only reason they didn't stop (yes it was that bad for anyone who wasn't near the front) was that they were filming the gig. They should have stopped and sorted it out. Well they will have a lot of editing to do to get rid of the sound of the whistles and the chants of 'no se oye' (we can't hear).

What a shame, we were really looking forward to this gig and it was a real disappointment, as the atmosphere was killed by the fact that everyone was so fed up about the sound. Badalona years ago was ten times better, I wasn't at the San Jordi gig last year so can't compare.

And yes, Billy Jean was shit. What was that?!

Finally well done to anyone who got hold of one of the free CDs. We didn't see anyone giving them out at the exit we left by, which was one of the main ones.

Sorry to moan but it is gutting when you spend €50 and wait for a gig for months and then that happens, and the truth needs to be told because it seems the press all had a great time, they must have been near the stage speakers in the press area. I will of course go and see them again if i get the chance but never again in an outdoor venue.

Hey what's going on with all those complaints??

The show was really awwwwesome!!! they were fantastic all of them, even Chris was brilliant with his delicate voice as we all know, and there was the same energy in the stage as always, no problems and no mistakes, and it seems that they were happy to play in Barcelona again, and of course, Chris has a better catalan and spanish than last year!

But for me, the only disappointing thing of the night was... the crowd. I'm not going to say the sound problems, because it's a normal thing to happen in big stadiums, you just have to understand it and that's all.

But it's NOT normal that when a powerful song is playing, people just stand motionless with the cameras up and in silence... oh C'MON they were recording the show with professional cameras!! It's just a stupid thing to do with your own little cheap camera!! The crowd was much more euphoric in Palau Sant Jordi last year than yesterday, and it was quite sad... Coldplay chose Barcelona for this tour, and on top of that they choose this show to record it!! and people didn't give what the four guys needed... they didn't deserve it.. was very shameless.

And they noticed it, there were moments that they were trying to get some participation from the crowd, as the mobile wave... and it was very hard. I guess Coldplay expected much more from Barcelona crowd, as always, but this time it was just awful.

In my sector there were lots of noises, people shouting and chatting on the stairs as if they were in a bar, drinking all the time and waiting for the beer-man for more and more drinks, doing everything except paying attention to the show that we had all paid. Only a few people seemed to enjoy the most songs of the night.

And about the CDs, it's hardly surprising that so much people couldn't get one if the responsibles for the delivery were so far from the exit doors, throwing lots of cd's like boomerangs, and many people just didn't know where was the place to get them.. very poor organization.

But except all that, the show and the guys were really amaaazing, and the lights and the fireworks were so extraordinary, the night was so worth it!!! and at least didn't rain, just some little drops!! And I hope the bad reviews won't make them change their opinion about Barcelona, we'll be waiting their comeback!!

[Daylight Shadows]

Well I guess we were in the lucky side concerning sound and stuff since I had but good vibrations the whole evening... I've just read the whole reports and I ask myself if I attended a different gig... except for the LIT-VH thingie, I have no complaints at all... .

(Vamos que en nuestra zona había un muy buen rollo y el ambiente de la grada, para mi sorpresa, fue épico ).

[Linlaarie]

Ok, I was there, I went from Madrid, a long way by car... and I expected the same good show I saw last year in Madrid. It... just wasn't.

The sound wasn't good, that's true (I was in the area where the problems appeared) but I didn't complain because it wasn't their fault, they just did their best. Even Chris apologised for the sound problems at the end of the concert... "it's a pity" is all I can say over and over.

The point is that because of that, Chris and the guys wasn't in a good mood, and we all missed that. I think the company that prepared the concert to film it for the DVD maybe underestimated the power of the loudspeakers and lights... it was just a pity.

I think the band couldn't do much better, but the organization definitely could have been better (for example, when they gave the LRLRL CD, there was just a bunch of guys with a lot of CDs... and loads of people around them. Of course, there were people with 5 CDs and people with none). I enjoyed the concert, but the people (as the band) just wasn't exited... it is a shame that due to some sound problems, the atmosphere wasn't as good as it could have been.

It just wasn't one of their best shows... but they will do it better in the next, I'm sure of that. And of course, I'll be there.

P.S: I really enjoyed their "Glass of water" and "Life in technicolors II", they were new for me in live, and I missed "Trouble"!!

[raulelsueko]

There is too much crap and negative reports said about the show right now and I'm really disappointed atm. Me, as many of you, did a long trip just to just see them live and I feel so lucky that I had this biggest chance to attend their gig. So I just want to add one more thing: besides the bad reports, we still love Coldplay in Spain and we'll be looking forward to seeing them again as soon as possible!! So please stop the whinning, we were lucky... s**t happens, they will learn from their mistakes. Right now people overseas have the impression we were rude to them and that's NOT FAIR! Peace!

[Linlaarie]

Hello there!! I'm Jose from Madrid (34y.o.) and this was my 6th Coldplay concert. I will try to be as much sincere as I can be. I will write you my opinion of the concert in english and spanish.

Positive things of the concert: - amazing atmosphere (entorno o atmosfera asombrosa) - nice stadium appropiated for the recording of DVD (bonito stadio para la grabación del DVD) - reasonable tickets prices (precio de tickets razonables) - very good visuals support (muy buenos visuales acompañando la actuación)

Negative things of the concert: - huge audio problems, they stopped sounding, they were listened very very low (enormes problemas de sonido... se les dejaba de oir, se les oía muy bajo) - they didn't play what they said ... I read a Guy Berryman interview where he said they were preparing some old songs (Sparks, Don't panic, A rush of blood..., ) to play live in the big stadiums too and it was FALSE (no tocaron lo ue ellos dijeron hace tiempo, leí una entrevista a G. Berryman done decía que estaban preparando temas antiguos para tocarlos en los estadios grandes y fue FALSO). - Chris Martin's voice was out of tune (la voz de C. Martin estuvo fuera de tono) - very bad delivering of the free CD at the end of the concert (muy mal reparto del CD gratuito al final del concierto) - sometimes I felt sad about them during the concert because too many people in the audience shouted "it doesn't sound" and it was really truth (me setí triste por ellos cuando mucha gente del público gritaba "no se oye" y era verdad) - not trustful press depending the newspaper you read, some of them didn't tell the truth(prensa no creíble dependiendo de lo que leas, algunos de ellos no contaron la verdad de lo que pasó)

My worse Coldplay concert ... I hope they make much better next time. Cheers from Spain!!

[josheggen]

I was there, and I have several things that to tell. About the quality of sound I do not repeat nothing, is quite above mentioned. I was in the picht and the sound was so poor... I saw The Police in 2007 practically in the same zone and you have the sensation that a sound wall was coming against you...nothing to see about Coldplay sound (a Playstation Sound I think...)

Another thing that I want to emphasize is that the stage was too low for such a wide place. I was more or less in the row 10 opposite to the stage and I can't see anything at all, whereas I repeat, for The Police, the vision was very good in the same place. I have the sensation of the scene was very very low. Probably is good for Palau Sant Jordi or Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, but not for the dimensions of Lluis Compayns. The image walls were also very bad placed.

I believe that the problem of the vision comes also because a concert in this place never has been done for 65.000 people, when the normal thing is approximately 55.000, in order that the people could see, move in, go in and go out in stadium without risks. At my side was a sick girl and did not have assistance, the public was so tight that was impossible that the stewards coming to the exact point of problem. In this case, I only blame Livenation. 65.000 is too many people for Lluis Compayns. They are very lucky beacause nothing happened. The people had problems to enter and go out of stadium and there had to be 10 wc for all. I feel very insecure.

I don't blame Coldplay at all, but there's only a thing that one band can do for resolve this kind of disapointing problems and is so simply: to play. I believe that they should have repeated the first three songs at the end of the show. I hope that they improve and fix the problems, since I go to Wembley and I would not like to go out with the sensation that Coldplay is not a good band. In wembley there are no problems of organization, but I'm afraid...

Barcelona Preview: Coldplay is going to record this evening's concert and will dedicate it to Barcelona

by NANDO CRUZ

  • The 63.500 seats offered for sale were already sold-out in April
  • The London quartet is going to record a DVD with this evening's concert at the Olympic Stadium

BARCELONA Tonight Coldplay intend to offer one of their best and most triumphant performances in the band's career. The tickets were sold-out in April. When at 9.30pm the English quartet enter the stage at the Olympic Stadium, there will be an attendance of 63,500 people predisposed to enjoy this concert which they have been waiting for - for months. Additionally Chris Martin and co. know that their Viva la vida has become an unofficial Barca national anthem, so the apotheosis x) is guaranteed. Therefore today Coldplay will record the concert and release it on DVD very soon. The recordings will take place by means of an advanced camera comprising a very high crane mounted outside of the rehearsal room in order to captivate aerial photos of the show. When Coldplay released their first album, Parachutes (2000), the critics wrote about the group's monumental profile. "Their songs are designed for being played at larger venues," it was proclaimed with confidence - only time will show whether this verdict is correct. The following albums of the group "A Rush of Blood To Your Head To The Head" (2002) and "X&Y" (2005), confirmed this initial feeling of greatness and a brilliant future for the group. "They are successors to U2 ", "is a group born to fill up stadiums".

Classics for a generation / Artists that can fill-up stadiums are often those, the lifetime of which make them open to several generations of concert-goers. The Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, AC / DC have been active musicians for three to five decades. Coldplay, instead, managed to be included in that league of stadium-filling artists after only a ten-year-long career. Coldplay is the only group from this decade being part of this league. Who attended the Coldplay concert only 12 months ago at Sant Jordi, should not expect this evening's concert to differ much from that concert. During this time the group have offered their fans some songs for free download from their website and their latest record: Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends (2008). Who has not seen Coldplay live, should know that Coldplay win in the long run. They were born to win and have a repertoire with an epic warmth which is both overwhelming and exciting: A comfortable bombast. They do not need circular or huge scenaries, as they know how to reach the audience in the back row.

Extremely good opening bands. / A group that is infallible at the big stadiums will be one of the opening bands. The Flaming Lips (playing at 7.50pm) will guarantee a spectacular show. The group "Los de Oklahoma" is well-known for their psychedelic and joyous performances; it is somewhat a mixture of Pink Floyd and Teletubbies. And records such as "The Soft Bulletin (1999) and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2002), delirious and heart-warming classics of the psychedelic rock, are the most important ingredients of an always colourful show. At 19 o'clock the Toledo quintet will play Sunday Drivers.

Barcelona Preview: Coldplay opens Barcelona's great musical 'reentry'

The British band repeat 'Viva la vida' one year later

Tomorrow - (almost) one year later, to the day, after their memorable journey to Palau Sant Jordi, Coldplay will be in Barcelona with practically the same setlist on their Viva la vida tour in the Lluís Company's stadium. They have sold 63,500 tickets for the concert which will have The Flaming Lips as opening band / warm-up band. Chris Martin's band will of course play Viva la vida, the song that has sort of developed into a special anthem for the Spanish football team Barcelona aka. Barça which has won 5 cups, as well as some of their classic songs such as Violet Hill and Yellow. The new element is however the British band's particular tribute to Michael Jackson: An acoustic version of Billie Jean. The Coldplay concert opens a very strong musical reentry. On 14 September 2009, the fathers of heavy metal, Deep Purple, on 19 September Steve Earle, and on 21, Leonard Cohen will be playing Palau Sant Jordi. In the month of October Green Day, Diana Krall, Billi Bragg and the veteran Elton John will pass Barcelona. In November Rammstein, Spandau ballet, Depeche Mode, and the North-American extremely beautiful singer Rickie Lee Jones and Muse will be here. December will start with heavyweights such as Marilyn Manson and Franz Ferdinand .

TRANSLATION OF ARTICLE / REVIEW OF THE COLDPLAY CONCERT IN BARCELONA 5 SEPTEMBER 2009

Rating: 3½* (out of 5*) Result based on 29 votes

The group performed at the Lluís Companys Stadium in Barcelona in front of 63,000 people

By LUIS HIDALGO

More contagious than the flu. That is a description of the Coldplay songs when played in a stadium. Whether you like it or not, but when 63,000 people join in the chorusses, then there is not much point in trying any resistance. Or you are affected or feel bored which will destroy a planet of smiles. Nobody felt like that last night in the packed Olympic Stadium "Estadio Olimpico" in Barcelona, where the British quartet proved that the huge venues belong to them. Stadiums are the best places for Coldplay to play. Yes, Coldplay is an authentic stadium band - the stadium is the type of venue where their performances will be to the best advantage. Lets begin from the start with Violet Hill, Clocks, In My Place and Yellow. When playing Yellow the pit of the venue was filled with yellow balloons. The audience in the stadium enjoyed the concert, screamed and laughed with Coldplay. No wonder that the FC Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiolain, present last night in the Lluis Companys Stadium, was visibly pleased having encouraged his players to perform well last season with Coldplay's music. Chris Martin nursed details, greeted the audience in Catalan and used Spanish (Castilian) much more than the last 37 Anglo-Saxon artists who have visited Barcelona. Another gesture of proximity / to create an intimate atmosphere in a concert that the band recorded with a view to making a DVD that aims to show the power of the band's live performances. That is why, even before reaching half / the middle of the concert, there had already been fireworks in Fix You. Then in the Encores, confetti rained down in the form of butterflies in Lovers in Japan. But as the happiness cannot be total, some technical problems - for which Martin apologized at the end of the concert with admirable embarrassment and that he wanted to compensate for with free records (that some employees in fact handed out)- affected the concert somewhat negatively, the sound of which varied in intensity in some sections causing the audience to cry / shout "we cannot hear!" with remarkable determination. Earlier, in the beginning of the show, the sound was interrupted for a few seconds on several occasions, a stain on a show designed to destroy/tear down. And that's exactly what happened yesterday in what was supposed to be the emotional highlight of the night coming with the interpretation of Viva la Vida. It was, without a doubt, the culmination of a concert that was to continue nearly one hour more and that would take their 63,000 fans close to heaven. In the course of their evening in Barcelona, Coldplay made two acoustic sets: One of them on a circular stage near the main stage, where they interpreted four songs; and another three songs were played on another stage opposed to the pit. There they played a tribute to Michael Jackson: A version of Billy Jean where the faithful audience sang along to the chorus.

Translation of Review of Coldplay Concert in Barcelona on 4 September 2009 - the Spanish newspaper "Lavanguardia"

We are talking about crisis. That the figures seem catastrophic. But, look where, last night a quartet of relatively normal guys came to the Stadium "Estadi Lluís Companys", bring together a heterogeneous audience consisting of more than one class / generation and section (Pep Guardiola, the coach of FC Barcelona, is not lost in the concert). An audience different from the conventional audience at concerts by Rolling Stones, U2 or Bruce Springsteen; it is said an audience quite a lot more epicurean x). About 20 minutes behind schedule some muscular Coldplay broke the anxious silence of the audience. They entered the stage at full speed with a Life in Technicolor which suffered from some unfortunate, unexpected sound problems. Let's get to the point. When reaching the third song we have already reached full speed with a convincing and overwhelming version of Clocks. In the continuation we came closer to ecstasy with In my place, with singer Chris Martin racing several times for a catwalk/ramp amongst the audience (and saying a sentence "qué tal amigos?" meaning something like "what's up, my friends?" - bridging the gap between singer and the audience). His way of delivering his performance (delivery) is sincere, his timely/punctual deferences to the public (" ("muchísimas gracias desde el corazón" meaning "Thank you very much from the heart") are appreciated, but his hard-working attempts to convert some conventional scores into pieces of rap, waltz do not stop colliding. In Cemeteries of London he again makes reference to his empathy for Barcelona, and so throughout the night. The truth is that this group has a double merit, because beyond the extreme correction of its pop-rock (simple correction, never ecstatic) the group has been able to convert it into tremendous ballads-hymns of smashing loyalty, and, moreover, to ensure that those simple melodies are eventually becoming powerful themes. That happened yesterday with Fix You that, since it was composed, until today it has suffered a transmutation almost unbelievable: Tremendous rhytmic punch, fair vocal harmonies (this is a strong point in the house, moreover) and, when the sound problems permit it, an acoustics that did not disappear. All that justified that the stadium "Estadi Lluís Companys" recorded one of the largest events (stadium was packed) that one could recall, with those 63,500 people. When in the middle of the evening, a medley was invented (contrived) in the middle of the pit with God Put A Smile Upon Your Face and some other songs, the people - being jaded - shouted "cannot be heard" and Chris Martin said: "I am very happy to be here". Then there was an a-congojante? version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, acoustic guitar exposed to? hair and voice naked. A sensible tribute. At the end, and there is not the same doubt about that, all went well, one of those big concerts to close the summer season, effective, exciting and sensational, with much confetti, but with unpolluted dignity. And so I will end this review: "Hasta la proxima" meaning Until next (time or concert).

x) Epicurean: characteristic of an epicurean: devotee of (esp sensual) enjoyment

Coldplay Fiasco in Barcelona The show orchestrated by the British quartet led by Chris Martin, succumbed to a horrific crash to technical problems that crippled part of the performance Rating**** = 4*/5* William Granell| Reader writer | 05/09/2009 | Updated at 19:53 h | Participation With tickets already sold out for months, and after the apotheosis of macro carousel concerts that have been shaking over the city this summer -AC/DC, U2, Madonna, Coldplay were planted in the Olympic Stadium to countersign his unstoppable new star status what is known as "stadium rock". However, the evening would end far from the alleged triumph that was supposed we would be providing and to make matters worse sonrojante derive an embarrassment for certain strains of the concert. Released with much fanfare by some means the alleged romance between Coldplay and BarcelonaAlso been informed prior to the performance that it would be recorded live and would become part of a DVD for later release ... Viewed as seen last night, the editing team expect a hellish work in the assembly. Everything seemed to presage the disaster when over 20h in the afternoon, Wayne Coyne, Leader of the unclassifiable The Flaming Lips climbed on stage at the Olympic Stadium, to the utter indifference of much of the public, except those posted in the front that could have grappled with the most vocal fans, who had spent hours huddled in front to have a good site and we can worship subsequently Chris Martin more closely. That a group as The Flaming Lips who stands for everything anti-Coldplay is extremely remote as the wildest mainstream, such that radio-formula seems to venerate more devoutly, has to act as guest artist with over 20 years of career behind him, is so surreal to see themselves as the crazy choreography and props worn by all the concerts of Oklahoma. That issues such as' Do You Realize? " of their fantastic album Fights the Pink Robots Yoshimi with which they parted or jewelry the next long At War With The Mystics as 'The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song' have to be tasted between the whispering and walking hand mobile countless people in search of his companions, it was pathetic and saddening. At times, the unequal power of marketing that surrounds certain bands, you will attend as yesterday's scenes, authentic nonsense comprehensible only in a music industry right now that definitely seems to have become the new circus of century XXI. And as good macro show worth its salt, it should always feed on other precedents which serve to mark a kind of guideline to follow, perhaps because of it and compared to Coldplay with heavy machinery that supports the U2 shows and those just before the concert actually started for most, it would sound 'Magnificent', to the delight of those present, who lived the moment as a clear nod to the above.

Just before Chris Martin and his men appear on stage, sounding the first notes of 'The Blue Danube "by Strauss, a piece that seems to have been lifted up into the category of new anthem of the popular culture of our new century, to the glory of Stanley Kubrick-responsible involuntary globalized its 2001: A Space Odyssey- And the Viennese people. What a novel so surprised, congratulations on the cliché to the appropriate parties. And so began the long-awaited concert by Coldplay, literally within 30 seconds of action began to be plagued with electrical fainting and sudden and momentary leakage of sound, fully operational issues such as 'Violet Hill'. The face of Chris Martin looking at one of the technicians located at the side of the stage during the crash, said it all. Unfortunately, the bursts of Coldplay in Barcelona, With bad sound, are beginning to appear tradition since the penultimate visit of the band last year at the Palau St. Jordi, which sounded deslabazados for some subjects.

Returning on Friday night at the Olympic Stadium, the third theme decided to rescue the excellent 'Clocks' that came too soon and the band still very cold. 'In My Place' would be as follows, with a Chris Martin that stirred fitfully on the stage and offered the very start of depletion or appearance of reluctance. That eagerness to include the public in the phrasing of issues like 'In My Place' or 'Yellow' remaining impact to them and leave one with the feeling that you are stealing the opportunity to enjoy an energetic interpretation, please of a massive karaoke which only serves to feed the ego of the causes. Unlike previous tours as 2003 with 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' or 2005 with 'X & Y' finished catapult them to stardom, Martin seems to have dropped almost introspective concentration which characterized the interpretation of many issues, to foster greater frontman pose invaded by false modesty and shaken by unpardonable forgetfulness, the result of excessive searches of complicity with the audience. "Glass Of Water" was one of the few subjects that dazzled live instrumental level and demonstrate the power of this muscular musical training at the time of British manufacturing temazos when dispense with the absurd outbursts that seem to seize star Chris in certain times. On issues like this, without a tune destined to be born with a desire to hit since its inception, is that you can identify the footprint of Brian Eno and how right in wanting to strengthen the group's sound without having to always be subject to Martin's falsetto.

Unfortunately, the sound romance would not last much longer and after vigorous churchyard of London ', which reveals similar rhythmic curious and perhaps some lessons from training as Radiohead, Would the sugar and expendable ballad "42". 'Fix You' was to be the next instant karaoke massive, decorated with an over-dramatization by Chris, very likely through the night to seek interaction with the public. After 'Strawberry Swing', the group makes its first foray into one of the small stages located in the middle track and begin the destruction of two major issues such as 'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face' and 'Talk' which is still flawless execution recalls his 2005 concert at St. Jordi and now, past by this pseudo-techno mixer, the filter until they were without body or soul. While this was happening, began to hear a strong puff from the right-middle section of the stadium, adorned with cries of "Can not hear! Not hear!".

From our position, are also appreciated fluctuations in volume levels over the last three issues. Buckland, Berryman, Martin and Champion they look without really knowing what happens. This time alone and carrying a small piano, Martin pinpoints the lines of another good theme as 'The Hardest Part' sounds weak and lackluster sound in this mode, watered down and without force. At a stroke maim these three issues that could have sounded at its best and we are reduced to sense the murmur. Of course the order of the code and implementation of many issues is proving very disappointing and return to the main stage to do to fire Viva La Vida, You can not ignore the obvious: the show is proving a disaster. With this particular song, the "triplet"-Coldplay-Barça Guardiola phenomenally strong charge and remind me of the danger of falling into the temptation to seize under what terms, works or marks, to end up commodified, a little style Florentino Perez and his obscurantist projects Madrid-Galaxy-Disneyland.

Soon after, it appears that Coldplay return to the attack with another of these forays into another stage located in the middle of the stadium. Such breaks do nothing but break the rhythm of an already uneven concert and extend our sense of tedium to levels exasperating. Both like to see once again returning to destroy another great song like the beautiful 'Green Eyes', the seventh cut from their second album 'A Rush Of' ... and also running in the acoustic mode, as if in the middle of a rehearsal with friends concerned. The height of absurdity to the show would ride the wave with the public phone in hand, while rape and disembowel the classic Michael Jackson, 'Billie Jean'. Serve this as a point, to denounce the hypocrisy of many artists and musical tabloid, who now are struggling to regain the figure of someone before he died, only used as a tool to vilify and no its endless artistic achievement, the chaotic management of his personal life. Strange that this batch of fake testimonials, also signed up several months ago Bono or Madonna. That said, the grotesque and the heat made an appearance again in his second round on the main stage to the sound of a techno medley of infumable Viva La Vida some present appeared to receive with great joy and that would have delighted the versioning of mythical themes and soundtracks to bakalao style of the famous route that ruled Valencia. To those who liked it, will have to discover the mythical reinterpretation made at its day of soundtracks Conan the Barbarian, The Last MohicanThe 'Adagio' by Georges Delerue that appears in the film by Oliver Stone, Platoon or 'Wonderwall' by Oasis, Because they would delights ...

With such an attack of embarrassment, even taking over our person, it exploded-literally-the sound for one second at the beginning of the powerful 'Politik'. 'Lovers In Japan', 'The Scientist' and 'Life In Technicolor II' would be the last batch of outstanding issues, leaving the ink unforgivably anthems like 'Trouble' for inclusion in a global campaign of the Red Cross be allowed known or 'Speed Of Sound'The album single incontestable definitely catapult them into fame, which might see the quality of their last direct, may seem unwarranted. Undoubtedly, this concert was one of the great disappointments of the year, even though Chris Martin be inclined to excuse and prove they can play the 'Gnossienne No. 1' of Erik Satie between songs, while we get bored telling how many yellow balloons and paper butterflies are scattered on the floor and the stands that are impoverished or fireworks as cherry to a concert failed.

The British band Coldplay, playing for the third time in a year in Barcelona, filled the Olympic Stadium to capacity in a concert based on 'Viva La Vida!

The return of the magnificent foursome

By David Castillo

Coldplay have become the most successful band of recent years. And it was not easy, because Coldplay started in London's alternative scene in the late nineties and played in small venues/concert halls, especially in Camden, with other britpop bands. Now some won't forgive them their success, but seeing them live or listening to their four studio albums is a blessing. Convinced of their potential, with a burst of joy, Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion made a new exhibition of power with their energetic performance in a packed Olympic Stadium, with tickets sold out some time ago. Unlike the Nou Camp concert by U2 - of which Coldplay are considered to be fans - Coldplay sounded live despite the serious and incomprehensible sound problems, plugged / connected, with the songs off the album Viva la vida or death and all his friends as central repertoire, the themes of which have become hits worldwide. Thus, of the ten songs on the album, the group's machine gun spat out, from the beginning / by way of good principle, Life in Technicolor, Violet Hill, Cemeteries of London, Lost!, 42, Death and all his friends, Lovers in Japan, Strawberry Swing and Viva la vida inspired by a painting by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Martin's voice was repeating: "I used to rule the world; seas would rise when I gave the word; now, in the morning I sleep alone; sweep the streets I used to own". The letter, which is a good therapy to prevent attacks on the ego, was used even by wise Mr. Pep Guardiola, who was installed in the press area, to prevent the euphoria and the bombast / grandiloquence of his club. I was lucky to see them on June 16 last year at Brixton Academy in London on the day of the release of their album, which was presented in Barcelona the following day. In London, Martin arrived to climb by the decorated neoclassical old theater, converted into a concert hall today. There were two performances exclusively: London and Barcelona, a new demonstration of the importance (leadership) of our city that so often wanted to settle with catastrophic visions. The members of Coldplay explained that on the recommendation of the producer and musician Brian Eno, they came to the recording sessions for Viva la vida after using the services of a hypnotist who brought them to a state of trance. It's a technique used by the members of the surrealistic group, particularly those of Tenerife, who invented the literature in transit. Apart from relaxation, freeing themselves from the neuroses of success and fame, Coldplay obtained some musical effects that were reproduced in the concerts. It is the point of madness, delirium, the group passed. Ingredients that have added to the sympathy of Martin, the obsessive battery of drummer Champion, the rhytm of bass player Berryman and the talent of guitarist Buckland. Apart from relaxation, freeing themselves from the neuroses of success and fame, Coldplay obtained some musical effects that were reproduced in the concerts. It is the point of madness, delirium the group passed. Ingredients that have added to the sympathy of Martin, the obsessive battery of drummer Champion, the rhytm of bass player Berryman and the talent of guitarist Buckland. All together, the coloured apotheosis x), the adrenaline that has walked the planet in 200 concerts, many in large format, very different from the first two performances in front of a small group of people, a "small committee", in London and Barcelona last year. Apart from the new songs, the group again played some of their most popular songs off their previous albums, such as Clocks, In My Place, Till Kingdom Come, The Scientist, God Put a Smile Upon My Face, Yellow and Fix You. The concert was perfect, had been preceded by two opening acts de luxe, the Toledo-based group "The Sunday Drivers" and the trio "The Flaming Lips", the prestigious veteran trio of Oklahoma - with a whole party of balloons, confetti, Teletubbies and girls with miniskirt, that Coldplay regarded as one of their main references alongside Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, REM, Echo & the Bunnymen, Bob Dylan and particularly U2 and A-ha. Without being an original group, Coldplay has managed to be influenced by these disparate groups and artists to achieve a sound that mixes the electronic music of the pioneer groups, the need of some letters with a message and joy of British pop. To sum it up, we say that is worthy of the cocktail Boadas. Who would say that, having placed only fifty copies of their debut album (in 1998) in shops/stores, sales figures or the number of spectators who attended their concerts would be counted in millions? Even without much of the script to separate and maintain a code of conduct with a minimum of discipline, I guess to save your neck in a territory as dangerous to life as pop music. Little joke. In front of almost 64,000 people, Coldplay gave a superb concert. Not surprisingly, the English group announced that the performance at Lluis Companys would be recorded and that the record would be sold in DVD format, without saving technical or technological means, from a crane for panoramic views from outside the stadium to a set of 4 cameras to reproduce the intensity of these four guerrillas of beauty. The concert had everything from the dose Techno and electronic versions to the acoustic or piano solo versions or a call to Nat King Cole. There was the emotional tribute to the late Michael Jackson with an acoustic version of Billie Jean. After a few performances in Barcelona, yesterday Coldplay made concert history. The concerts will be remembered like the big performances from the Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen and Supertramp. A new generation will continue a style of music that has often been given by lapse/expired. Viva la vida? Viva Coldplay!
