Car Kids written on the back of Chris Martin's shirt during a festival appearance, 2011

Car Kids, alternatively known as 'CK' is a track linked to the era of the fifth Coldplay album, Mylo Xyloto, which was released in October 2011.

First introduction

The band were seen in discussion with Melvyn Bragg[1] in the autumn of 2009 as he travelled with them for six months, taking in their win at 2009's Grammy Awards, a tour throughout Japan, the Brit Awards and the War Child concert in London, where they performed with Bono, the Killers and Take That's Gary Barlow. Bragg was also seen spending quality time with the band whilst they worked on their next album in their north London studios, and Car Kids was one of the songs found written on the whiteboards in the studio.

Car Kids was seen written on Coldplay's clothes during the festival appearances of 2011.[2]

The Oracle on Car Kids

Q. What do the letters CK stand for??
The Oracle replies:
Car Kids; it was the name of a song recorded for the MX album.
I first thought it eventually became Charlie Brown but as that name stuck from kicking around early during proceedings, it was a separate entity entirely.

Q. I've been wondering this for a long while now as I'm sure many others have, it was on Chris' shirt, the home page background. What does Car Kids mean? Is it a lyric or a song on the new album? Thanks Oracle!!
The Oracle replies:
Yeah, as far as I know it was a song pencilled in for inclusion on Mylo Xyloto but didn't make it on to the final tracklisting. We may hear it one day, who knows?
